"I can't believe it, like how they came from being evil people to actually have concern for homeless children?" "I don't know and it doesn't matter. We need them to execute this project, Chloe." Charlene said as she held both of the brunette's shoulders. "So please, I want you to put everything aside and just focus on this." "What do you mean?" Chloe chuckled. "There's nothing I can put aside because there isn't none. This is only pure work, nothing else." "Great. So let's just wait for the contract to be signed then we'll start this. I already talked to our architects and engineers and I don't know if it's necessary for YC corporation to meet with them since all they will do is funding our project." "In case they want them to meet our people, just schedule a meeting but don't include me. I have had enough of meeting those idiots." Chloe scoffed and she turned back to all the paperwork in front of her. "You have to forget the past, Chloe." Charlene said as she sat in front of the wooden table and put her arm on top of it and rested her chin on her palm. "It's been two years." "3 to be exact if you're going to include the one year that they banished." "For the record, Jess didn't disappear, we still have contact and we're dating." Charlene pointed out. "But wait, why do you keep calling them evil?" "Because they are evils." Chloe said nonchalantly without even looking at the woman in front of her table. "Just because Yohan abandoned you, that doesn't mean they're evils." "Trust me, they are." Chloe chuckled as she finally closed the folder she was holding and leaned back to her chair. "My wedding will be at the end of the month so I guess I have to leave some of the paperwork to you." "There's nothing new." Charlene shrugged. "But really, congrats. I am so happy that you finally —." Charlene stopped speaking when she noticed Chloe staring behind her with her eyes wide open, as if she had just seen a ghost. She snapped her head behind but see nothing. "Hey, are you okay?" Chloe shifted her gaze at her and smiled nervously. "Y-yeah. Uh could you give me a minute? I just have to take a rest for a while." "Well, I have to go too, that's why I'm here." Charlene said as she stood up. "I don't really know why I have to ask for your permission whenever I have a date." "I'm wondering too." Chloe chuckled. "Anyway, see you tomorrow and don't overworked yourself. Your boyfriend might call the wedding off if she saw you become a zombie for overworking." "Shut up. He'll love me no matter what." Chloe hissed and rolled her eyes playfully. Charlene laughed as she made her way to the door but she halted when she felt something weird when she passed by in the corner to get the door, but just shrugged it off and continued her way out. As soon as Charlene left the room, Chloe's smile faded and was replaced with scowl. "What are you doing here?" "Nothing, just wanted to pay a visit to my old friend." "We've never become friends." Chloe scoffed. "Oh come on, is that how you greet your old friend?" Yohan chuckled as she walked forward and sat on the chair where Charlene occupied earlier. "Cut the crap, Yohan. I really hate when you barge into my office and annoy the hell out of me." "Well, I love annoying you because that is what I'm good at." Chloe pursed her lips and closed her eyes tightly as she let out a lungful sigh. "Why did you even come back?" "What do you mean? I didn't even leave." Yohan chuckled and she leaned her body to the table. "You're the one who left." "If moving to another house means leaving to you. Then it's not my problem." Chloe said as she closed her laptop and arranged her things. "I have a date so if you won't mind, get the hell out of my office." "Okay." Yohan said and she stood up. Chloe looked up to her with raised left eyebrow. It feels weird that Yohan agreed to her just like that because she was used to Yohan being persistent and stubborn. "I'll be leaving your office then." Yohan added and she walked away without looking back again. Chloe let out another sigh after the door shut. She admits, seeing Yohan after two years still gives her different feelings that she didn't want to entertain. Maybe, just maybe, there's still a part of her that longs for Yohan but the bigger part of her wanted to settle down with Joey and have a peaceful life. After a brief moment of procrastination, she finally decided to leave. To be honest, she lied about her date. She really didn't have one, just wanted to rid Yohan. After all, it's almost 5, which means work hours are done. So she picked up her belongings and made her way to the door. "Hi." "Holy f**k!" Chloe blurted out when she got startled when Yohan greeted her as soon as she opened the door. "I thought you left?!" She hissed while clutching her chest. "You told me to leave your office so I'm here, outside of your office." Yohan said and she laughed, but Chloe just stared at her ridiculously. "What?" "Nothing." Chloe shook her head in amusement, suppressing her smile to break out. "Now that you're out of my office, you can leave my company building." "Oh okay." Yohan said and she walked away again, as if she's really enjoying that she's annoying the hell out of Chloe. Chloe groaned gutturally and she walked to the elevator and waited for the lift to arrive, while Yohan stood next to her but it seemed like they couldn't see each other. Chloe fished out her phone and started dialing Joey's number. "He's supposed to be picking you up if you two have a date." Yohan commented. "It's not mandatory. So it's not really necessary if he'll pick me up or we'll just meet at the restaurant." "How boring it would be if he only brought you to a restaurant." "The place doesn't matter, as long as we're together it's fine." Chloe retaliates. "I just think that you're not that kind of a woman who wants to spend the date in a restaurant." Yohan said. "Well, I am. Sorry." Chloe scoffed. "Hello babe? How's your day?" Yohan finally looked at Chloe and she frowned when she saw the brunette smiling on the phone. "Okay then, I'll wait for you. I love you." Chloe said and she hung up, which made Yohan's frown go deeper. "Do you really love him?" "We're getting married, of course I do love him." Chloe replied, still wearing the smile on her lips that Yohan finds annoying. "I think you should find one for yourself so you would know how to love a person." "Well I have one." Yohan replied and this time. It was Chloe who frowned but she quickly hide it. The empty lift finally arrived after ages of waiting and they both stepped inside. Chloe pressed the lobby but Yohan pressed the floor in the accounting department floor which made Chloe confused. "What are you going to do on that floor?" She asked. "You're not the only person who's allowed to date." Yohan chuckled. "So you really have a girlfriend?" It may sound bitter as it came out from Chloe's mouth and it made Yohan smirk but Chloe still maintained her composure. "Yeah I do, we've been dating for a year now." "And she's one of my employees?" Chloe asked. "Yeah." Yohan said. "Surprised?" "Actually yes, I didn't know that there's a woman who would fall in love with a devil." "You don't have to be surprised if you have already experienced it." Yohan teased and it made Chloe feel embarrassed. The elevator stopped at the accounting department floor and Yohan stepped out. "Enjoy your date." She said before walking on the aisle. Chloe was staring at her and trying to see where the Devil was heading but the elevator got in her way after it closed and she cursed loudly. Yohan roamed her eyes around, looking for female employees that she needed to pretend to be her girlfriend. Yes, she's just bluffing earlier to tease the brunette, but since she got herself into this situation, she needed to stand on her ground. Yohan took the employees attention who's already preparing to go home after their work for today is done. Men and women are looking on her way, confused to see an unfamiliar face inside their company. Yohan kept her eyes roaming until it landed on the woman, who was surrounded by three male employees. She smiled devilishly and padded towards her. "Hey babe." She called. The men looked at each other, confused as to whom Yohan was looking and smiling. The woman looked up and when she met the devil's eyes. It rounded and seemed that she was suddenly put under a hypnotism. "Babe!" She yelled giddily to Yohan and ran to her, throwing herself onto Yohan. "I didn't know that you would pick me up." "What the hell?" One of the men showed his disappointment when the woman hugged Yohan. "Wait, you told us that you don't have a boyfriend." Another guy said. "I don't, because I have a girlfriend." The woman said, smiling with all ears. "Let me get my bag and let's go." She said to Yohan. All eyes are on them while they are both leaving the building, from the accounting floor, elevator, lobby and until they get in the parking lot. Everyone's eyes are on them. "Where do you wanna eat?" Yohan asked as soon as she turned on the engine of her car. "Wait, who are you?" The woman asked in confusion. Her eyes roamed inside then landed on Yohan. "Ah, I forgot." Yohan chuckled and she looked into the woman's eyes. "We've been a couple for one year, our anniversary date is on September 24 and we met at a party." "I understand." The woman nodded her head like a robot. "There you go, now I have a girlfriend." Yohan said, seemed so proud of her job of controlling the poor woman's mind. "I may have an idea where we eat." She said and started driving. ______
