"Auntie Emi!!!" Destiny yelled as Emily got out the travel car with open arms.
I had called her and told her I need a friend but I didn't expect her to just come down from the US to Canada. But she said she wouldn't mind having someone take over the office for a week. Besides, she didn't get along with family so I told her as a suggestion to come down here.
"Munchkin!!" Destiny jumped into Emily's arms and she hugged her so tight. Destiny giggled when Em places kiss all over her face.
"Hello to my best friend." I chuckled as we embraced each other into a hug. I pulled away with a smile on my face.
"When I suggested you come down to Canada, I didn't mean literally."
Emily scoffed. "What are friends for, Jen." She places Destiny on the ground and she ran off to the play area with other kids. We took a seat on the bench that faced the park. I kept a good eye on Destiny.
"So, tell me what happened to you and your baby daddy." She smirked.
I sighed. "It went well. He told me he wanted to spend time with Destiny."
Emily looked harder and frowned. "So I'm guessing you don't want that."
"No, I want him to. It's just...I don't know how Destiny would take this. She's only three."
"Hmm, maybe you should just tell her so when she sees him in person, Destiny will be prepared. She's a smart girl, Jen. She will most likely take it well."
"Your right." I gave a small smile.
Just then my phone gave a loud ding. I pulled it out of my pocket and watched the text from him pop up.
Diego
We need to talk. Meet me at the hotel at 3.
Me
How about you pick me up now. I have to take care of things later. I'm at the park on the other side of town.
Diego
That works. I'm on my way now.
I sighed and cut off my phone. Here we go again. I turned to Emily. "Could you take Destiny with you, I have to meet him."
Emily smirked. "Oh, and what are you two going to do?"
I rolled my eyes and gave her the keys to the rental car I purchased. Destiny and I still stayed with my parents but I just haven't held the need to go back just yet.
"Nothing nasty, but can you take her with while I go meet him?"
"Of course, Destiny and I will have a girl out till you get back."
I smiled as I hugged her. I thanked her before walking off. I sighed as I let my thoughts consume me. I'm still trying to settle with the fact I have to tell Destiny about her father.
Minutes went by and the sound of tires pulling up to the curb caught my attention. I looked up and seen his handsome face. I got up when he signaled me to get in the car. He opened the door from the back of a limo and I slid in.
"Hello, Jennifer." He greeted as the car begin to drive.
"Diego," I replied simply. "So what did you want to talk about?"
He cleared his throat and I noticed the look of nervousness. I lifted a brow in wonderment of his blushed face.
"How's Destiny?" He asked instead.
I frowned slightly before forming my lips into a thin line. "She's with a friend of mine in tone. Is everything alright? Your flushed."
He took a breath before speaking. "Go to dinner with me."
My eyes grew wide at his sudden outburst. I could feel my fingers shake as the beat of my heart grew louder by the second. He just asked me that.
"W-What?"
"I mean, I want you to meet a few people important to me. It's a royal dinner and I have to introduce the mother of my child and hopefully Destiny." He explained more.
I frowned as the feeling of tingles left my body. I swallowed a gulp feeling my nerves work. He wanted me to meet his family.
"I-I don't know."
I suddenly felt his hand intertwine with mine. I looked at him, meeting his eyes. "I won't force you, Jen. But I will have to announce to them I have a daughter."
"And I understand that but what about your title?"
I notice his jaw clenched and unclenches. I then spoke again. "You told me I'm a commoner and now that we have a daughter she would be titled a commoner even if her dad is royalty. I won't lie either."
"You won't have to." He said lowly and I felt my nerves move when the car came to a stop.
"Come on." He said as he pushed the door open and held his hand out for me. I grabbed his hand and he gently pulled me out the car.
"There you are, Sire. Your mother has been—what is she doing here, your majesty." The man said in an agitated tone. I sighed. This again.
"Don't question me, Burgl. She's here because I invited her here. Why, is not your concern."
I watched as the guys face paled from color. "Yes, sire."
He walked ahead and Diego and I followed him. I clutched his elbow with mine as we walked into the magnificent, tall home of his. It was an old fashioned castle and it looked so modern as soon as we went inside.
"If it isn't my son that shows up late once again." An elder woman said as we entered the dining area full of people I did not know. I felt undress. Everyone had a nice gown or tux and here I was in a pair of jeans and a thick sweater. Even Diego was in a tux.
His mother's eyes landed on me before she pushing me away to embrace her son. Diego gave me an apologetic look before embracing her.
"Mom." He said before pulling away and grabbed my hand to pull me closer. "This is Jennifer."
"And her title is?" His mother looked me up and down.
"Her title is not important at the moment. We need to go somewhere private to talk." Diego explain my presence here was important.
"Should we go to your father's office? I'm pretty sure he's not busy." His mother walked past us after telling her guest to continue the dinner.
We followed behind but stopped when a new voice was heard. A young woman with brunette hair, cut to the lower base of her neck. She jumped on him and hugged him tightly.
"Mi sei mancata!" She spoke. I would assume Italian. (I missed you)
She pulled away with a smile as he let her go. She then looked at me. "I'm Sara Lubov, duchess of Belmont. And you are?"
"Oh, Jennifer," I told her. She continued to look at me as if I was supposed to say anything else.
"Why is your title?"
"No need to know her title." Diego interfered.
Sara turned to him. "Are you lying to your fiancé."
Both of my brows shot up. "Fiancé"
