Among the surviving hunters only the strongest Rank A was still conscious. He was in great despair as he wasn't even able to help his team despite being a leader. Right now the monster launched itself to the weak hunter who couldn't even fight.
He felt pity for the weak hunter but more than that he was jealous. By now he has already realized that an anomaly has occurred within the tower. This wasn't the normal situation. After seeing the monster mercilessly kill his team, all he wished for was to be free of this situation.
He didn't care if it was death. He just wished not to suffer this horrible scene anymore. When he saw the weakest hunter going to die. He thought it should have been him. But suddenly a brilliant light flashed.
He couldn't see what exactly happened. When he opened his eyes again. The monster that attacked the weak hunter was convulsing. Its eyes were full of fear as if seeing something more terrifying than itself. Moreover it's limbs were severed and its chest was penetrated.
The weak hunter who was supposed to die was lying unconscious. He immediately tried contacting the hunter association. Fortunately he was able to connect. He told the gist of the matter to the association. The elite hunters came for the rescue. They were amazed to see the cruel s*******r of the hunters.
It wasn't that they witnessed it by themselves but they were experienced enough to tell what conspired here. They weren't S rank hunters for nothing. The hunter association sighed at the look of the survivors.
They were amazed that an F rank hunter no a failure was still alive though unconscious. They immediately transferred the injured hunters to the hospital.
The A rank hunter gave them the briefing of the things conspired in the boss room. The association members were surprised by the fact that the wake hunter was the reason for the defeat of the monster.
Furthermore, the Hunter association discovered that the monster that appeared was one of the mythical creatures. It was a three headed sky fox. Normally it was impossible for such a monster to appear.
Also it was defeated but how could the association believe it. They concluded that only the combined power of the SSS ranker would be able to hold off the beast. The association thought that the weak hunter had awakened his innate ability. But it was again denied as research showed that only hunters from Rank B and above were able to do so.
Meanwhile
"Huh where is this place? Am I dead? Is this heaven? Or is it hell?" I suddenly heard a voice from behind my back. When I turned around I saw a couple of figures approaching me. No to be exact monsters approaching me.
When they were near enough for me to see clearly I saw 7 dragons each with different attributes. Gulp ' Am I going to be punished even after death? Is it because I denied my fate? Oh s**t this sucks. What am I supposed to do now?'
A voice then soothed my worries. " Young man, you don't need to worry. You aren't dead yet but if you remain as weak as now then your death would be inevitable."
" I am not dead? Then where am I? What is this place? How can there be dragons? Oh yeah maybe I am dreaming and it would be fine once I woke up. "
" Young man, believe it or not but you are the one destined to oppose the heavens. I hope you awaken your soul soon and get the memories from your past. "
The Dragon reached their claws towards me. I wanted to refuse but I was powerless. Thinking that it was all a dream I let them touch me. As soon as they touched me I felt like something entering my body but I couldn't tell what it was.
" Your body is so weak. You won't tolerate our power if you don't improve your physics."
"Huh. What are you talking about?" I tried to ask but the voices vanished. When I saw my hand there was something different. The engraving changed and only the words IU remained.
I didn't think too much as I thought it was all a dream. I was worried as I wanted to go back to my sister as soon as possible. I didn't know how many days it had been. I wasn't even sure if I had any time left to save my sister.
Aargh..
When I opened my eyes I was surprised. I was in a hospital bed and the wounds on my body were all healed. Suddenly a nurse came in to check on my condition. I asked her how many days have passed. I found out that I have been unconscious for 2 days. 'Thankfully I still have some time remaining.'
" Can you find a way to discharge me?" I hesitantly asked.
The nurse shook her head as she said " Mister though you woke up, we still need to check your conditions. Also the hunter association wants to measure your rank."
"Huh" I was surprised. I couldn't believe that the hunter association wanted to measure my strength. Soon they came in along with a crystal ball.
" How are you doing Mr. Bibek?"
" I am still alive so I suppose I am good."
" You won't mind if we take your measurement, will you?"
" No, I won't."
" Then please place your hand on this crystal. It would show you your current rank and your stats."
I nodded my head and placed my hands on the crystal. I was really hopeful but the reality was really cruel. My stats were the same as before. Even the engravings were still the same. The hunter association returned with a dejected look.
I enquired about the pay that I should have received. The hospital gave me a shock saying that 80 million was deducted as my hospital fee. I was reluctant but I needed to pay 100 million to loan shark to save my sister.
The hospital discharged me without any issues. I rushed back to my home and called the loan sharks. When I paid off their debts they were amazed. They wanted to take more and even tried to fight me.
I was surprised at the situation. It should have been me beaten to pulp by them but I was somehow able to dodge them as well as land a hit. Suddenly I saw that the engravings on my hands were changed. Two Golden letters IU remained.
Furthermore all my stats were at 20. But when the association measured it wasn't this great. I felt elated. I found out that the talk with the dragons wasn't a dream. I felt blessed. Finally it was a new beginning for me.
