Chapter 9Leah felt emptiness in her life. She needed something to occupy her mind and time. She penned a list of activities to fill the void and give purpose to her life. Yet, nothing seemed to interest her. She felt no passion and giggled at the thought of doing needlepoint. She always ended up ripping out the stitches she carefully made. For many sewing was calming. But, for her it was frustrating. There was only one item on her list that looked interesting and that was teaching school. She wondered what her father would think about her starting a school for the worker's children.
