Chapter 10Arriving in the Americas
The voyage to Genoa, a seaside village in the Americas, was almost over. Leah noticed the ocean colors changing from midnight blue to turquoise as the ship sailed into the Gulf of Mexico. Leah could see the coastline with its brilliant white sand dunes peeking above the shores as they sailed into Choctawhatchee Bay. She planned to record the scenic detail to share with her students when she returned to Antigua.
Leah could feel the electrifying currents in the air as they neared the four-mile landing at Genoa.
