Leah awakens at dawn feeling anxious. She tried to remember if she'd felt this way before. Then she recalled having the same forbearing when her mother died. The feeling of impending doom sparked her anger. She'd been anticipating the trip home to England aboard The Tempest, Brandon's fast and sleek schooner. She could image them staring up into the starry skies and laughing as they shared secret thoughts. She could almost feel Brandon's arms around her as the wind teased their faces.
