Chapter 5- Upright Position

Kat's P.o.v

I wake up...and my head is pounding and my arms feel heavy.I hear my phone going off,why god why are you going off right now? With my head still burried in the pillows my hand blindly searches for my phone on my nightstand. "Hel..Hello?"My throat is dry and the ringing in my head won't stop, I can not bring myself to fully open my eyes to see who's name is on the screen.

"Kat?...Are you still asleep? I've been outside for 15 minutes did you forget we were hanging out this morning?"I look at my phone and see that it's 11:47.."s**t Leah,I'm sorry I overslept.Give me a sec I'm down".I hear her laugh as I hang up and let out a frustrated sigh.It takes all my strength to get out of bed, I realize I'm completely naked and walk over to my dresser and quickly throw something on that's when I look over to the window but see the curtains drawn...and I find myself frowning a little.But why?I am dragging myself down the stairs, why the hell did I get a house with so many stairs?When I open the door I am instantly hit with the harsh reality of truly how bright the sun is and then I see something else.

"Well It was Really nice to meet you David".I look across the driveway and see him give her a small smile and wave.When his blue eyes settle on mine I become uneasy and flushed, suddenly I'm flooded with memories of last night and the thought of is lips...He smiles at me and says good morning Katrina. I look down and rush Leah inside."Oh my GOD..Who is that and where can I get one because....Damnnn."

I try to laugh but part of me feels massive guilt. Another part of me is dying for an aspirin."Oh my..is someone a little hung over this morning? "She smiles mockingly as she sits at the kitchen island. I pour her a cup of coffee and chug some."I just had a long night, I think my new limit is 4 glasses not 6 or 7".She laughs and says she's gonna enjoy this.

"So what do you wanna do today, lunch?What time does Michael's benefit start?"Ugg that's right"Sh*t I totally forgot"I burry my head in my hands and pout for a moment she laughs and asks how could I forget."I've just had a lot on my mind lately, with Michael and this morning I'm..not myself."

She looks at me for a moment and chews on her lips.."You and Michael? Is everything okay between you two?" I comb my fingers through my hair and shake my head "Yeah, you know..just normal stuff."She asks me if I'm sure and I say absolutely, but a small voice in my head can't say maybe.I rest on my elbows and look up at her "Let's go shopping I wanna get something for tonight".She smiles and excitedly bites her lip"But aren't wearing your blue dress?"

I start getting on my jacket and grab a pair of sunglasses and my purse."I always wear my blue dress, I want something..A little less expected".She laughs and asks what has gotten into me I turn to lock the door and I begin to wonder the same thing.I look over and see the blue ocean staring at me and I can feel my entire body tense, what is he doing to me?I head to the car and watch him as we pull away.

We go to a few stores and nothing really catches my eye.Leah asks me what's wrong "I'm tired of dressing up like some dried up, boring housewife..I'm 28 I'm not dead.I wanna walk into the room and leave guys breathless and have Michael begging to F*CK me.I don't wanna look like me tonight, tonight I want every guy to see me and wish they were with me."I didn't even realize I was crying until she wiped a tear from my cheek"Hey Kat,you are not boring or some dried up housewife.When I'm done with you, you are gonna have men on their god damn knees begging to f*ck. Understand?But if you ever call yourself boring again I'll slap you.Now come on".I laugh and she puts her arm around me.She takes me to a*****e I've never been to before, the walls are red and the floors are black wood.She gives me a smile and tells me to trust her.She walks up to the sales woman "Hello, my friend here has a semi-formal benefit to attend tonight so she needs a dress, she also needs some..lingerie to go with it and we'd like to see some sets for her to wear a separate occasion. We'd also like to see some some of your shoes as well as your more casual dresses."The sales woman smiles at us and tells us to have a seat. She comes back with another younger woman and a tray of lemon water and strawberries,I look over at Leah and she gives me a wink.

They pull out a bunch really..daring dressing I'd be too afraid to wear.Then they bring out a floor length black and nude dress,Leah smiles."Oh you are so trying this on".It was completely backless,the boddess was nude with sheer black overlay, it is extremely tight and hugs every curve.It has a deep plunging neckline and crisscross straps that met on one shoulde.The sides has illusion panels so it appeared as if only my front and backside were covered by sheer black."Leah..I..I can't wear this".She stands up and smiles."You look gorgeous and DEFINITELY NOT BORING.You are getting this.Now let's get you some shoes".I give a nervous smile pick outa few things and Leah talks to the sales woman.When I pay for everything I notice Leah has some bags as well "Did you get some stuff too?"She smiles and says I can thank her later.

We get back to my house and I notice the truck is gone.Leah tells me to shower and she'll do my make and hair for me.When she finishes I look in the mirror and..I am definitely..DEFINITELY NOT F*CKING BORING."Now go make those bastards grovel".I laugh and thank her for everything and watch her drive off.I see my phone go off,Michael texts me to meet him there the benefit is always held in his office.I've been there a hundred times,but I just wish could go together.

When I step out of the elevator my eyes search for him in the crowd,I text him that I here.Quickly he makes his way to me, looking me up and down."Kat?Kat ..wha, What the hell are you wearing?"I place my hand on my waist and look down in embarrassment."I thought you were gonna wear your blue dress honey?"I strug my shoulders and look up at him, biting down on my lip."I thought I'd wear something different for once..Don't..I mean I thought you'd like it."

He lifts my chin and looks me in the eye "Kat, you look very..nice,but people are staring.Don't you think that dress is a little inappropriate for you?"I cross my arms in an attempt to cover myself. He takes my hand and says we should get a drink.We make our way across the room and I feel the gaze of every man on me, and I begin to blush. After a few hours I've been introduced to a few people, coworkers, donors,friends and wives. I talk to his friend I kind of know Nick."Wow..Kat you look, just wow,why are you hiding her from the rest of us man."He licks his lips and throws his arm over Michael and Michael tells him to calm down. I've lost Michael when he went to speak to some clients about a new project so I was on my own.I'm speaking to Michael's boss Mr.Clark when a tall blonde taps me on the shoulder. I turn around "Hello, I'm Bria, Mr.James' assistant. Mr.James wanted me to inform to head home he had some business to attend to and didn't want you to have to wait."

She smiles, turns and walks away.I continue talking to Mr.Clark for a little while then excuse myself, I want to say goodbye to Michael before I head home.I slowly walk down the hall making my way to his office. I think about it for a minute,what if he's meeting with someone or on an important call? I know there's a small hallway from the door to his office but still I don't want to interrupt if get him in trouble...I turn the door knob slowly and crack the door open to see. That's when I see it.He grabs her by the throat hard,throws the blonde on the desk and slaps her and he asks her if she likes that. He rips her dress, and she laughs.Then he trails his fingers along her thighs, and she giggles. Then another set of hands come from behind Michael and wrap around his throat,and I see him tense at first.I see who's hands they belong to. Michael turns his head to meet the owner's lips, Nick kisses him hard, rough and Michael groans.Nick starts to undo Michael's shirt as the blonde struggles under my husband's grip.I see Nick drop to his knees and I put my hand over my mouth in horror. I get out of there as quickly as I can.I drive home speeding and replaying what I just saw over and over.No I'm wrong, No Michael....Noo.NOOOO. I feel the tears streaming down my face.

I pull up to the driveway and sit in the car for a moment unable to move.I get out but I'm not walking in the direction of my house.I knock on the door, then I bang on it.He answers "Kat..What's wro.."But before he could finish his sentence I grab him and kiss him hard,and with such eargerness.He breaks my kiss after a moment and takes my face in his hands.."Kat..Are you sure?I don't want to make you do something you'll regret, or do something because you're upset".He caresses my face and I lean into it.I stare into the ocean and feel myself getting lost."I'm tired of fighting what I want.I want you ."He kisses me, biting my lip.He pushes me up against the wall,lifting me he begings to kiss my neck.I cry out he feels so good against my skin....
