696 Words
Nathan's Prov     After the words had left my mouth the look on her face is nothing but panic, as if I had found out about a truth that should not have been spoken. When I heard what her friend had said this morning it had made me a little concerned that something was going in her home that had made her stay to herself and taken her confidence away. The young woman before me seemed to be hiding something that she was afraid to reveal as if it would cost her, her life. looking into her eyes its as thought she was struggling to breath and that made me immediately stand up to see if she was having a panic attack I made my way over to her, standing I front of her I placed my hand on her shoulder. "hey … hey.. hun are you ok.. just breath ok just breath" at my words she seem to have calmed down a bit but not much, she looked down and away from me as if trying to conceal the fear I had seen on her face. she took a deep breath trying to steady her breathing once again. "Did I say something wrong Bethany?" I asked she didn't look at me and said something barely over a whisper that if I wasn't close to her now I wouldn't have heard anything "I.. I.. sorry …" I looked at her a little confused as to why she had apologized when she did noting wrong. "hun don't apologize you have done nothing wrong" at hearing my words she looked up at me with wide eyes as if I said something bad. " um... c..can I g..go to my o..other classes.. p... please?" she asked and at that time I didn't want her to go, something in me wanted her to be with me right here and not leave. It felt right in some way that I can not explain. But because I knew I had more student to teach I decided to let her go. But it was also the pleading in her voice that had me realize that something was defiantly wrong. "Do you have a phone with you?" I asked looking into her eyes, the eyes that held so much innocence's. I know as a teacher I should not have done this but I had to there was just something bothering me about how she had asked and spoken that made me want to make sure she was safe, and if she wasn't I would sure as hell do everything to make sure she is. "y...yes I do why do you ask?" she said "can you take out your phone, open it and give to me please?" she did as I asked and gave me her phone. I put my number in it and texted myself so that I would get her number and save it. I gave her back the phone . she looked at it with a confused look. "I know as a teacher that I should not have your number but I cant help wanting to know your ok , so I want you to text me if you ever need someone to talk to or your just need a friend ok? she look at me surprised that I would do this. "why would you want to talk to me? I'm nothing special" at he words I just smiled because it amazes me that she doesn't see how beautiful she really is. "you really don't see how beautiful you are, do you?" she still had that confused look as she asked me. "what are you taking about?" But this time I just looked deep into her eyes it too a few second before I replied. "I just want make sure your safe don't worry too much I'm not some creep or anything" I said with a small smile. "ok" she said. she left the room a little fast trying to get to her next class while I stand there looking at her as she leaves the only thing on my mind is how someone so innocent has so much pain holding in.
