CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE Following an early viewing, Tina approached Audrey’s house and swung into the short driveway. She was surprised to see Malcolm’s car with its taped-up side mirror and decided today was not the time to give Audrey her news. She was about to reverse her VW out when she noticed the front door was wide open with snow blowing in. Debating what to do, Tina sat with her engine running. Finally, she switched it off and opened the driver’s door. She walked past Malcolm’s car, through the settling snow, to the open entrance and looked into the house. ‘Audrey! It’s Tina.’ She stepped into the hallway and searched for the light switch. It was morning, but the sun had not penetrated the thick layer of cloud.
