Jian screamed as an arrow ripped into his arm. He refused to leave Hua, but he couldn’t believe his eyes.
The girl he’d come to know and care about screamed in agony as scales poked through her skin.
Her body contorted revealing two large… wings?
Another arrow narrowly missed him, and he stumbled down the steps. Steel tipped arrows fell to the ground around him as he made a break for the guard tower where Commander Yang and a few others avoided the storm of arrows and crossbow bolts.
