Chapter 16: SilkeVisions of a half-naked Lauren belly dancing pleasantly entertained Silke on their drive home. The radio was on and they didn’t talk much, but Lauren’s hand rested warm on Silke’s thigh and it wasn’t until Silke pulled into the driveway that she realized that Lauren’s head had sunk back and she was snoring softly. Oh, please. Silke killed the engine and just sat there for a moment, staring at Lauren, who continued to snore. The outdoor light was on and in its harsh light Lauren looked worn out and older than her years.
