Chapter 41: LaurenHaving realized that there was only one bathroom in the apartment, Lauren stayed in bed until the first flurry of morning activity was over and Claudia’s husband had left for work. Still, she had just taken her clothes off in order to get into the shower when there was banging on the door.
“Lauren? Are you almost done in there? I promised my mom I would go to the hospital with her this morning and she wants to get there before rounds.”
Claudia’s voice cut in and Silke answered and then Claudia spoke again and then Silke, and all the while Lauren stood there shivering in her panties, wishing they would hurry up, but too polite to interrupt their obvious discussion.
