PROLOGUE
The roar of the engine fills my ears, a symphony of power and precision that I've come to know intimately. Each turn, each straightaway, I navigate with a mix of instinct and calculation. The world outside the cockpit is a blur of color and motion, but inside, it's all focus and determination. "Winter, keep pushing. You're doing great," my race engineer's voice crackles through the radio. I acknowledge with a quick nod, my eyes locked on the track ahead. This race has been grueling, every second a test of my limits. As I approach the final lap, the tension in my muscles is almost unbearable. The pit wall comes into view, and I catch a glimpse of my team, their faces tight with anticipation. I take a deep breath, forcing myself to stay calm, to stay in the moment. "Winter, this is it. Last lap," the voice in my ear urges. I push harder, my grip on the wheel tightening. The car responds beautifully, hugging the corners, accelerating with a ferocity that sends a thrill down my spine. " Oh my gosh Winter!!!" My race engineer shouted at my radio. I was trembling because of his voice dahil baka naunahan na ako. No! No! Then, just as I round the final bend, the radio crackles again. "Winter, you did it! You're the world champion!" For a heartbeat, I can't process the words. The finish line blurs past, and a wave of emotion crashes over me. Relief, joy, disbelief. they all blend together as I slow the car, my hands still trembling. I press the radio button, my voice breaking as I respond. "Are you serious? Did I really...?" I ask in radio again. "Yes, Winter! You're the world champion!" My engineer's voice is filled with pride and excitement, and I can hear the cheers of the team in the background. Thank you God!!!!" I shouted with tears while driving. " Winter! We are proud of you." My race engineer said in radio. I'm a world champion! " We'II do it Carlos!" I said to him in radio. I drive slowly past the checkered flag, I can't help but wave to the crowd, my hand trembling with emotion. The fans are cheering wildly, and I can see the joy and excitement on their faces. Tears blur my vision as I wave, overwhelmed by the support and the magnitude of this victory. I unbuckle and climb out of the car, the noise of the crowd finally reaching me. They're chanting my name, a sea of faces and banners celebrating this victory. I rip off my helmet, my hair spilling out as I lift it high, a triumphant grin spreading across my face. Overcome with emotion, I drop to my knees in the middle of the track, facing the grandstands. Tears stream down my face as I look up at the cheering crowd, their applause and shouts filling the air. The enormity of the moment washes over me, and I let myself cry tears of joy, my heart swelling with pride and gratitude. In this moment, under the bright lights and the thunderous applause, I feel invincible. This is what I was born to do. As soon as I gather myself, I stand up and immediately start scanning the crowd, my eyes searching for one face among the sea of people. My heart races anew as I spot my fiancée, standing near the pit wall, tears in her eyes and a proud smile on her face. I run towards her, ignoring the cameras and the chaos around me. Reaching her, I throw my arms around her, pulling her into a tight embrace. the world fades away as I hold her, the reality of my victory sinking in fully only now, with her in my arms. "We did it," I whisper, my voice choked with emotion. She pulls back slightly, her eyes shining with tears. "You did it, Winter. I'm so proud of you." her eyes shining with tears and give me a kiss on lips but she cut agad when i hold her waist. " Our moment is soon joined by the rest of the team, who envelop us in a group hug, their cheers and congratulations blending into a joyful cacophony. We stand there, wrapped in the warmth and support of the team that made this victory possible, and I know that this is just the beginning of an incredible journey. As the initial rush of emotions begins to settle, the reality of what we've achieved starts to sink in. The cheering crowd, the flashing cameras, and the overwhelming support from my team all blur together into a surreal haze. I pull back from the embrace of my fiancée, our eyes locking in a moment of shared triumph. "We did it," I whisper again, feeling the weight of the words. The team members around us continue to celebrate, their voices a chorus of joy and congratulations. I take a moment to look around, soaking in the sight of their elated faces. Every single one of them played a crucial role in getting us here, and this victory belongs to all of us. . "Winter, you need to go to the podium. They're waiting for you." just then, my race engineer approaches, his face beaming with pride. I nod, feeling a fresh surge of excitement. "Let's go," I say, taking my fiancée's hand as we make our way through the jubilant crowd. The path to the podium is lined with fans and team members, all reaching out to offer their congratulations. I take the time to high-five as many of them as I can, my heart swelling with gratitude for their support. As we approach the podium, the noise of the crowd grows louder, their cheers echoing around the track. I let go of my fiancée's hand, giving her one last smile before I step up onto the podium. The feeling of standing there, looking out over the sea of cheering fans, is indescribable. I raise my arms in triumph, a broad grin on my face, as the national anthem begins to play. The sound of my country's anthem fills the air, and I feel a deep sense of pride. As the anthem ends, the champagne bottles are handed to us, and I join in the traditional spray of bubbly, laughing as the cold liquid soaks my racing suit. When the celebrations on the podium wind down, I step off, feeling a mixture of exhaustion and exhilaration. My team gathers around me once more, their faces reflecting the same joy and pride I feel. We pose for photos, our smiles wide and genuine, capturing the moment for eternity. Finally, the media frenzy begins. Reporters crowd around, microphones and cameras thrust towards me as they fire off questions about the race, the victory, and what it means to me. I answer as best I can, my mind still reeling from the magnitude of it all. Through it all, my fiancée remains by my side, her presence a steadying force in the whirlwind of activity. When the interviews are over, we find a quiet moment together, away from the cameras and the crowds. "What's next?" she asks, her eyes shining with excitement. "We keep pushing forward," I say with a smile. "This is just the beginning." I take a deep breath, thinking about the journey that lies ahead. We walk back towards the team, ready to celebrate this incredible victory together, knowing that the future holds even more challenges and triumphs. But for now, we bask in the glory of this moment, a testament to our hard work, dedication, and unwavering belief in each other. The after-party for the Mercedes team is a vibrant celebration of our hard-fought victory. The atmosphere is electric with joy and camaraderie, the perfect end to an unforgettable day. Music pulses through the venue, laughter fills the air, and everyone is buzzing with excitement. Kelly and I steal a few quiet moments together amidst the chaos, cherishing the rare chance to enjoy each other's company without the press or the race on our minds. We laugh, share stories, and revel in the glow of our recent triumph. As the night draws to a close, we decide to leave the party and head home, our hearts still racing from the day's events. In the car, we chat animatedly, our fingers intertwined as we drive through the city streets. The world outside is a blur of lights and shadows, and for a moment, everything feels perfect. While we approach a quiet stretch of road, Kelly reaches over and selects a song from my playlist. The familiar opening notes of "Paper Rings" by Taylor Swift fill the car, and a smile spreads across my face. It's our favorite song, one we've sung along to countless times. "Ready for our duet?" Kelly grins at me, her eyes sparkling with mischief. I chuckle, nodding enthusiastically to her. The song started while we bang our head waiting for chorus while i drive. This is one of happiness ever happen in my life. " Kiss me once' cause you know I hd a long night (oh) Kiss me twice cause it's gonna be alright... Three times cause I've waited my whole life..." My fiancee sang while i was tappin in steering wheel and banging my head. " Nagpaparinig ka lang para ikiss kita!" I tease to her tsaka ikinatawa ko ng malakas while she was blushing. " I like shiny things, but I'd marry you with paper rings... uh, uh, that's right! Darling, you're the one I want." I trn my attention to her while i sing. She laughed hard to the point na she slap my arms for three times kakatawa! Wahh!! I'm her happy pill. We're so caught up in the song that I almost don't notice the sudden change in the car's behavior. The engine starts to shudder, and the brake pedal goes soft under my foot. "Winter, what's happening?" Kelly's voice is tinged with panic, and I can feel the tension in the air. I try to keep the car steady, my mind racing through every possible solution. The engine roars louder, and the dashboard lights flash erratically. I struggle to maneuver the car, but the brakes are completely gone. My heart pounds in my chest as I see a street sign approaching too quickly. I grip the wheel tighter, desperately trying to steer clear, but the car's trajectory is uncontrollable. I try to keep the car steady, my mind racing as I attempt to figure out the problem. The dashboard lights flash erratically, and despite my desperate attempts to slow down, the car continues to pick up speed uncontrollably. "Hold on!" I shout, trying to steady my breathing. Kelly clutches her seat, her face pale with fear. I brace for impact, the world narrowing to the deafening roar of the engine and the shuddering of the car. The music plays on, a stark contrast to the chaos unfolding around us. I try to maneuver the car, but the brakes are completely unresponsive. I see a street sign approaching far too quickly and grip the wheel tighter, desperately trying to steer clear. "Winter!" Kelly's voice is filled with panic now, and I brace for impact. The car's trajectory becomes uncontrollable, and the familiar notes of "Paper Rings" are drowned out by the screech of metal against metal, the crash of impact, and the shattering of glass. The car slams into a concrete post with a violent jolt. the world spins wildly, and pain surges through me, My vision slowly darkens, the noise fading into a distant hum as I lose my grip on consciousness. The last thing I see is Kelly's face full of blood. her eyes wide, I try to reach her hand before I reach her hand, everything goes black but pain surges through me as my vision spins wildly.
