Damon's POV
It has now been a week since I woke up from my coma. I like to think of myself as fearless, ruthless, and unbeatable. But I would be lying if I said I hadn't been struggling. I've woke up in the middle of the night screaming with images of Madilyn's melted face before my eyes. At first it was only in my dreams but now I see it everywhere I go. Madilyn has been the best, she hasn't pushed me to open up or question me, unlike almost every other person in my life. She knows deep down somewhere that when I'm ready I'll come to her and that gives me the most relief of all. To think that in two days time that woman will be my wife brings me so much joy that it almost completely overshadows the pain and sorrow, but no matter what, it doesn't take away the restlessness.
