The Realm of the Heavens
Selene heard her father's call and made her way to stand before his throne. He looked at her, acknowledging her presence, but continued to talk to the other Gods and Goddesses in attendance. These meetings were becoming a daily event. Everyone was in an uproar since Akoshka inherited the Earth. A planet not meant for her to have. Although she expressed she was against it, she warned them what was to come. Still, they gave it to her hoping to appease her.
She felt all their pain, sadness, despair and it hurt her. Still she said nothing as she heard her name murmured throughout the room. Yes, they were talking but she positioned herself in front of her father's window to earth. A tear escaped her eyes as she saw her daughter's destruction.
Akoshka was pure evil. Although born from light, she had a darkness that consumed everything. She was depraved, the unthinkable acts she was capable of.
Selene thought back, remembering the first time she said no to the child. It was a time before time, when there was peace, and the people of Metzar were obedient. Life was innocent. No one had eaten the forbidden fruit.
Akoshka was spoiled, for she was a Goddess unlike any other. Her beauty surpassed everything. Her Father created all Gods and Goddesses, but Akoshka was born into the position. The first of her kind to walk through the heavens. Different from Selene and Maui and their brother born to Emanuel from their mother. Who was not a God or Goddess, she was an entity that just was, never existing in any human, or godly form. A sacred story, one not spoken of. Her Father had created the heavens for Mother and she loved them so, she gave him Me the Moon, Maui the Sun and our brother, which could be described in so many ways. Selene could best describe him as the living waters. The love they had was so beautiful that everyone was envious, but not in an ungodly way. Her mother was her father's Muse and she inspired him to create so many beautiful things. Silent she was to all but to him she sang. Akoshka was different, she was not a creation of Emanual, which made her unique. She thought of the words some whispered then to describe her as they passed, "Abomination, ungodly, degenerate," she had ignored their words thinking that she was just a beautiful child with a beautiful heart. Her romance was forbidden and now that she saw Akoshka's work she regretted her disobedience. Ulysses was so beautiful to her in the beginning. She had tried to stay away from him, knowing that laws prevented them from what they were doing. Young and in love, they thought they were right. That the all knowing Emanual knew everything, but them. The fire, the heat, the desire that burned within them from one another. They took every moment they had to spare to slip away to make love. Ignoring her father's warnings, "Selene," he had said, "you are almost as powerful as I am and your heart is huge, but you must understand the ramifications of your actions. If a child were to be born from a union such as yours and Ulysses, it could cause a catastrophic reaction. The power within the child would be too much to carry as the child matured, the power could corrupt it. Spoil within the child because it does not have the beacon of light I give all my creations."
"Father, you don't understand I love Ulysses. We will be careful. I will not dishonor you."
She stole a glance at her father. Even now she did not understand all that he was. He knew she was lying as she had spoken the words. Still, he loved her like he did everything. Then Akoshka came, announcing her arrival through her mother's screams for mercy, "Father, stop it! She's killing me!" Akoshka was growing so rapidly, within minutes her stomach swelled and looked as if it would explode, her untapped power wanted to be released. Emanuel took her only to save Selene, his first daughter.
Akoshka was so demanding, wanted the moon, the stars, everything to be hers. Her father was angry that she did not heed his warnings. He knew the dangers she could harbor. He knew the risk they were taking, but against the odds, she was born. Emanuel, still angry, allowed his heart to soften because, as a babe, Akoshka was so adorable he favored her, his only grandchild. He loved her, so he promised her the world.
His first world was a planet called Metzar, like Earth, his pride and joy. It was a larger planet than Earth yet primitive. The planet was non-industrial, yet the people were so true. Emanuel cherished Metzar, you could see the sparkle in his eyes when he talked about it. The first planet, a gift to Mother, was to show his love for her. This, though, was one of the first times she noticed her beautiful Angel Akoshka was flawed. "Akoshka one day it will be yours." Emanuel had said to her daughter.
He even came off his throne to teach her personally how to care for the planet. Akoshka was like a succubus. She was capable of not only seducing dreamers, she could entice the wake as well. As a small child, a smile, a wave, could manipulate any God or Goddess. All but her Selene wasn't sure if it was because she was her child, but she saw her for what she was and it angered her. It angered Selene more because her behavior slowly drove a wedge between her and Ulysses. He saw nothing the child said or done wrong. The only person that saw her other than Selene was her father. He was unaffected by her charm and this angered Akoshka too.
"Grandfather loves Metzar more than me," she said to Selene, stomping her feet.
"Akoshka, if he did not love you so, he would not have given you his most beautiful creation." She pointed out to her, but it was useless. Once the seed was planted there was nothing that could be done. She loved the planet toying with the people that brought her joy at first.
As a teenager, they tried to let her mingle with the children from Metzar. The heavens had no entertainment for a young girl, but this did not go well either. The one time she had been taken to Metzar to a small town on the big planet called Nanee so she could mingle with girls in her age group when they returned Akoshka was alone, the entire town abandoned.
"Akoshka, where are the people of Nanee?" Selene asked.
She was met with silence and still to this day they are lost souls. Akoshka refused to say where she had hidden them. Her depravity only worsened. She developed a crush on an angel that did not share her affection, so to spite him, she used her abilities to create an orgy among the male angels while she watched with pleasure. Emanual was furious, she had brought such impurities to the heavens. Ulysses was still blind to her ways. He tried to bargain with Emanuel. Her father had smote him. Ripping the veil from his eyes. He felt betrayed, not angered at God but angry at her. As if her worries, warnings, anguish she had tried to share with him had not gone unheard. Like this time when he had gone against her by saying to give Akoshka the Earth still under her spell. It was not Akoshka's, she had inherited the Earth, her father's way of saying she was forgiven for the sins of hers and Ulysses. Which is why Catori was created. Everyone was against her existence but her father read her heart. He knew the love she had for Akoshka and the pain it caused her to lock her away. He knew Catori was her way of showing him appreciation. She created her to protect the planet he blessed her with. Akoshka had never really heard no, but after she had done her dirty deed she had followed up with, "It's okay we can just get rid of those, and create more. I did not like him because he did not like me. We can just start over again."
Emanual had looked at Selene, and she heard him say, spoiled. Although he did not speak. She knew he did not speak of her character. No, he meant her power was rotten, she was rotten to the core.
"No." Selene had said to her daughter, wanting to believe she could be fixed. "No Akoshka, they are fathers' creations as well. Life is a precious gift, being is a gift." She tried explaining.
"But everyone will know what I did. They will tell others. Heaven will laugh at me. I will not stay and endure this ridicule! I'm leaving, I'm going to Metzar, my planet." Akoshka had announced.
"No." Emanual said to her. Her punishment, he denied Metzar to her.
"You never wanted me to have it in the first place!" She screamed and the heavens shook.
"Where are the people of Nanee, Akoshka?" Emanuel asked her, "First that, now this!"
"Calm down, Akoshka!" Selene tried calming her but it was no use. Akoshka had a tantrum like no other and when it was over Metzar was gone. Akoshka blew made the planet crumble. During her rampage, she opened the gates of hell, breaking a seal that had been in place since Lucifer fell. It took her father and several other Gods and Goddesses to conceal her and lock her away. Now she was free. Still full of hatred, no remorse for the people.
"She has released a plague in Russia." She heard one of the Gods say.
"Why Russia?" Another asked.
"She is looking for something," another responded.
"What?" She heard her sister Maui ask. Maui had not come to visit her even once. Now she made her way over to her but she continued to stare ahead, resenting the intrusion. Maui only wanted to know any secrets she held.
Selene could not, nor could any of the Gods communicate with Earth. Akoshka had blocked it, they could only see what was happening. Finally she spoke, "Father, why am I here?"
Emanual looked at her, "Because everyone else is."
"What do you plan to do when she has become bored with the people of Earth? What's stopping her from destroying all the planets in this Universe and moving on to the next?" No one responded, they all just stared at her. Akoshka was a force to be reckoned with. Metzar was not the only planet that died the day they felt her rage. She only hoped her chosen people would follow the breadcrumbs she left behind.
Chenoa POV
In the caves we all kind of walked around blindly holding up our lanterns. Wolves had great night vision, but we didn't see anything peculiar jumping out at us. "We have no idea what we are looking for." I pointed out as Chandler and Cameron felt around the walls. Carson kept sneezing. The poor guy was apparently allergic to dust, "Sorry we have no reason to enter here really."
"It's okay." He lied.
Zion just stood holding Earth, who, by the way, was huge.
"How much does he weigh?" I asked.
"Nine pounds when he arrived a few days ago, but within a few short days he'd gained about 10 to 12 pounds. Elijah says he will grow rapidly until he catches up with him." Zion explained to me.
"How does Elijah know that?" I asked.
"Catori told him, apparently they were communicating up until he came. Now he tells me she is resting."
I had to bite my tongue. I wanted to ask him if he felt like a f*****g i***t now for taking a mate, but we had no time to argue. We needed to find the damn scrolls.
"So maybe we are going about this the wrong way. Maybe we should ask Elijah." I suggested.
"Or see if your kids drew anything. She got us this far." Chandler pointed out. I noticed Kevin gave him a funny look and finally he said, "get your own Sidekick man!" Then he walked off,
"Where are you going?" I yelled.
"To see what other information Sidekick has to offer." Kevin shot Chandler an evil eye.
'Alpha, the sky is quite colorful.' Kevin mind linked to me.
'Thank you Kevin.' Kevin despised Kreis, but he was telling me that he was here. Trying to save me the looks of disapproval Zion would give. He was loyal in his own way.
"It is a little stuffy. I will be right back." I stepped outside just as Kreis was about to enter. He was wearing a very concerned look, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." I said to him. He looked at me like he was unconvinced.
"We are looking for missing scrolls. We found a message on one of the scrolls saying Earth was the key problem is Earth is a few days old and well not very helpful."
"I see, anything I could do to be helpful?" Kreis asked, sniffing the air.
"No, actually Zion is here and we kind of need those scrolls, so no time for you to be bickering." Kreis sneezed.
"What is that scent, my Lord, what the hell!" He pushed right past me as I tried grabbing his arm. s**t, here we go. He walked right up to Zion staring at Earth. I bit my lip as he stared at Zion and then at Earth, "Impossible!"
Zion let out a low growl and I already knew s**t was about to go left. "His dragon eye is open!"
Zion was ready to explode, but then something took us all by surprise. Kreis Lord of dragons knelt, my Kreis took a knee.
Zion frowned, standing awkwardly. He stepped back. After a short prayer, Kreis rose, "he will be a great Lord one day. I only hope it is not my kingdom he rules." He laughed at his own joke.
"One can only hope," Zion retorted.
Kreis got this look when he was about to say something jacked up, he'd pause then, bam! He would drop the ball. "I only wonder how powerful our children will be, as she gave you this child with so much power and you are but a mere wolf.?"
I was dumbfounded. Did he just say to Zion? I wonder what kind of kids he and Catori would have in front of me! Zion stared at him then handed me Earth. It was no use trying to stop this, Kreis had disrespected him. Zion cracked his neck then punched Kreis square in the jaw. With so much power, Kreis fell back, rolled, then bounced on his feet. "You disrespect me by speaking about my mate."
"Speak, taste, f**k they are mine to do as I please." Kreis licked the blood from his lips. He laughed, loving the challenge, his dragon eyes glowed. Zion was not intimidated at all. "I think you need a leash wolf." Kreis spat the blood at Zion. Zion laughed, sticking out his palm. He waved for Kreis to come to him. Kreis took a running start, shifting into his dragon, but to his surprise, Zion shifted into Czar, lunging forward, clamping down with his razor sharp teeth, slamming Kreis to the ground. "Yeah b***h let me see you fly after I clip your wings." Zion said, taunting him. Clearly he had been waiting for this moment.
Kreis was not used to anything but winning. His dragon was pissed, it jumped to it's feet and stomped, letting out a mighty roar that shook the cave, making rocks fall. He blew fire at Zion.
"No!" I screamed, but suddenly a glow lit up the room so bright, casting a shield around Zion. Earth, began to shake, and suddenly fire exploded from him so strong it threw me back into the wall of the cave, knocking me out!
When I woke, both men were staring down at me.
"What happened?" I asked, sitting up on my elbows. Neither of the assholes answered that question. Zion just pointed to the wall where Earth had aimed his flame toward Kreis. Luckily, Kreis dodged the flames and the heat was so strong it had made the rocks so dense a piece had chipped away. Chandler and Cameron had kicked at the rocks, revealing a door.
"Ha!" I said to Zion, "Earth is the key. Told ya!" Zion offered me a hand and I noticed the look Kreis had. He did not like him touching me. How could a guy be a total d**k yet possessive at the same time? I made a point to roll my eyes at him. He had better be glad time was of the essence, else he and I would be having it out. d**k! He really thought he would have us both. We had discussed this on more than one occasion. I was not sharing a mate with my sister and I told him this. His response, "I will not give either of you up. You are mine, she is mine, period."
"This isn't over." Kreis mumbled loud enough for Zion to hear. Apparently, he was not aware of how good wolves' hearing was.
"Of course not." Zion said to him loud and clear, because he knew we all heard them anyway. Chandler was now holding Earth, he looked at me, "Man, I thought your kid was amazing." He smirked. I looked at Earth, who was now looking around the room wide awake and then, for the first time, he saw me. I stared at him and he at me. He knew I looked like her but, I was not her. Carson opened the door but I took a moment to go to Earth, "I am your aunt Noah." I let him sniff me, bending down to kiss his head. He broke me at that moment because his lips began to quiver and with every ounce of my being I felt his pain, I recognized his grief. Tears poured down his cheeks. He missed his mama. I took his hand and placed it on my heart so he could feel the ache. I knew somehow he understood at that moment I was her other half. He came to me and lay his head on my chest and I carried him through the door in my arms because I knew he felt comfort from my embrace, a piece of his mama. There were twelve scrolls. 'Get everyone in here Kevin, we all need to be reading.'
So that is what we began to do right before a bright light flashed in the room. Crap now what?
Everyone stood in a fighting stance and when the light dispersed I nearly crapped my pants when I saw who stood before us.
"Dad,"
Dorkis walked over, quickly gathering Earth, "Quickly, Quickly people, we must move. Gather the scrolls, all of them!" Dorkis looked around, "hurry. This is a matter of life and death! Message our people and tell them to run and disperse now!"
'This is your Alpha. We are in danger of a run! Now, get as far away as you can go now! Go! Go!'
Kevin came in with the rest of the crew. Dorkis looked around. "Where is Dora?"
"Sleep probably." I was nervous now because his urgency was making me nervous.
"Stay here. Do not let anyone leave, except you. You can go home. I will get her myself." My father said to Kreis.
"Dad, you scaring me!" I said.
"You should be afraid, be very afraid."
He left and we did as we were told, returning seconds later with Dora and the Omega that had been watching her. There were sixty-two scrolls. Kevin,Chandler, Carson, Chastity, Jacobi, Yeresa held ten each. I held the last two. Breanna held her baby and Janette held hers as I held onto Dora's hand and Zion held Elijah. While Zion's dumb dumb mate just stood beside him looking worthless.
"She is here, close your eyes and hold on tight!" Dad yelled and Kreis kissed my lips, then took off as we were suddenly transported.
The kids were all crying but Elijah was bouncing around full of excitement.
Dorkis took a deep breath and let it out, then pulled me into a hug. "Hello beautiful, you are a sight for sore eyes."
"Dad, I can't believe it's you." I said to him. He smiled at me, saying "when the beacon went off I was on the throne. I nearly broke my neck trying to get to you."
He pointed at the tall building that looked like a lighthouse flashing a bright light.
"Where are we?" Zion asked.
"Well, we are in a time loop. It's safe here. The Goddess picked this day herself. See, she came to me one day when I was but a young lad. I was cleaning out the caves and she did not speak, she just began to write. I was so honored to be in her presence. I let her work in peace. The last day, she said to me "Dorkis Knight, I saw a vision of the end of time. The Undoing of all created. Scared the hell out of me. I was speechless and then she said, You are loyal Dorkis, I shall make you a keeper. I had no idea what that meant, but I accepted the assignment. She then sealed the scrolls away and said when the time comes, Earth will open the door as Earth has hidden it. She said the scrolls would help stop the undoing but it would take a group of mighty warriors to bring her down." He looked around. "Y'all don't look that mighty to me." I punched his arm as we all began to laugh.
"Follow me kids, we have reading to do." We all followed dad into the light house, all of us reading a scroll once we had the kids put to bed.
Chastity had the first scroll. I looked over at her and she was crying.
"Chastity," I said. She looked up at me.
"The destruction, the things that shall come to pass. It's horrible." She was trembling.
Chandler, who was deep into the third scroll, frowned, "s**t, if that's bad it gets worse."
"It says there are six major events that will occur before…" Cameron stopped himself,
"Before what?" Janette asked.
"The end." He said flatly.
"What are the six signs?" Carson asked.
"Hunger is the first. People will become cannibals, eating each other in order to prevent starvation." Cameron bit his lip, placing the scroll down, "Says all species will follow suit, devouring their own young."
Janette gasped.
"Goddess,"Yeresa said as Jacobi squeezed her leg.
"The second rivers and oceans will start to dry up," Cameron said.
"So we are about to be hungry and thirsty?" Kevin said.
"Third is disease; it will spread, killing the majority of Earth's inhabitants. And from there, well, it just goes down hill. The fourth sign will be fires burning endlessly. Fifth, mountains crumble into the sea and the last one is, the last is spontaneous combustion. Until it is no more." He placed the scroll down and walked a few feet away, then he began to yell, "f**k! f**k! f**k!"
"So how do we stop it?" I asked.
"Guys, there are other weapons like the blade, three to be exact," Zion said.
"What good are weapons? Who will get close enough to her to kill her?" Cameron said in frustration.
"No no no no!" Zion looked at Dorkis, "that's why you came in such a hurry, isn't it?" Zion flipped the table over.
"Zion s**t what is it!" I asked.
"Earth is listed as a weapon, a threat!" Zion growled, "that b***h is searching for my son. The moment he opened that door, his powers became known she will try to destroy him before he comes of age."
Dorkis nodded and now Zion yelled "f**k!"
"Calm down Zion, breathe." Leilani places her hand on his heart.
Earth is considered a weapon, he is just a baby." I said.
"Earth's power was not contained. Like Elijah, he is capable of many things."
"What do you mean, like Elijah?" Zion asked.
"When Elijah was a small baby he came to me multiple times. He appeared like an apparition. Hidden, I was in a place no one knew about but he came to me. He traveled across dimensions toward someone that he felt, smelled a familiar link to. Do you know how powerful you have to be to do that? The child was manipulating time. He learned by moving time forward he could become older, and he was just a few months old. Imagine what the hell Earth can do. Elijah was only in her womb a short time but Earth bathed in her essence for six months. You better bet your ass the Undoing wants to find him because once he reaches maturity he will be out of her control. I know this is a lot, but we must protect Earth because there is one more thing he is likely capable of."
"And what is that?" Kevin asked, but Zion knew already, "Lanunda said he would cry out to her, forcing her to wake. Earth can reach Catori!" Zion said.
"Exactly." Dorkis said.
I felt Zion's despair as a parent, but I also felt hope for the world. Could Cat really hear his call? "This is a lot to take in." I pointed out, "Where are the other weapons?" I asked.
"One is in a place called Wisteria, a magic kingdom." Zion said,
"Wisteria I heard of it. Ophelia said her mother was from Wisteria." Chastity said,
"And the other is here on Earth," Zion sighed.
"Where is it, Zion?" Janette asked.
"Russia." Zion spoke.
In the realm of the heavens
Selene gazed upon the land, zeroing in on the Silver Crescent Moon Pack. She was so worried her children would be lost without her. Unable to find their way.
"She has destroyed every place of worship! Every temple, church, mosque, and synagogue there was! How could she do that? How could she just destroy everything so callously? She is a monster!" The room erupted, some Gods cried, some gods expressed anger, but she simply sat watching and praying for those that were on Earth.
"Emanuel, the gates are flooded with souls trying to enter." Selene heard one of the Goddesses.
"Father, I wish to be excused. I have seen and heard enough. There will be no resolution today."
Emanual looked at his daughter. This time he looked deeper beyond the tears as he studied her. Yes, he saw a sparkle in her eyes. She still held a glimmer of hope for the world. He nodded, dismissing her, then he walked over to the window and looked out. Taking a finger, he replayed the time back. Nothing but dread. Then he saw a glow of raw untapped power. Where did that come from? What was Selene up to? It was in its infancy but it was there. Power that radiant he had not seen since Akoshka came into the world, the power of a young God or Goddess. He suddenly realized how bad things truly were. If Akoshka got her hands on that child's power, Selene was right. She would not only destroy Earth, but the universe was in jeopardy.
Then he heard her voice. Akoshka was forbidden from the heavens. Although she could not enter, she could still communicate,
"Where is she?" Akoshka demanded.
"Selene, your daughter wishes to speak to you," Emanuel said.
"No, I have nothing to say to her."
Akoshka started to scream and the heavens shook.
"You will speak to me now!" Akoshka screamed like a child having a temper tantrum, "Now!"
"Akoshka please, have you learned nothing from your time in confinement?" Ulysses spoke
"I want to know who was in that cave, what was in that cave!" She screamed.
"Cave, what cave?" Selene responded innocently. This caused Akoshka to become infuriated, "Mother, you never loved me! I was never good enough! You will talk to me or I will make the Earth crumble!"
Selene refused to entertain her, which is what Akoshka wanted; an audience. She was simply waiting for the day her father said three words to her and until that happened she refused to engage.
"I am already tired of this conversation, goodbye." Selene dismissed her.
Akoshka began to shake, "Now you have pissed me off!"
"Akoshka," Ulysses pleaded,
"SHUT UP FATHER!" Akoshka yelled.
AKOSHKA BEGAN TO THINK. SHE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT TO DO TO RATTLE HER MOTHER. PACK BY PACK HER CHOSEN WOULD ALL DIE! They heard her laughter as she left.
"Maybe we should let her in and try to reason with her?" Ulysses said.
Emanual shook his head. "Isaac reach out to Lucifer, we need to talk."
