Chapter 14: Bridge

"We may or may not be mistaken. You actually could be the 'bridge' we are all finding."

I looked at them confused. Seriously? Bridge? I don't know why they see me as a link of heaven and hell but I am sure I am not the one they are looking for.

I don't even know anything about my ability and I am just starting to learn and enhance this eyes of death of mind and now, a bridge? That is somehow so impossible to happened.

A bridge between the demons and angels means giving a harmonious relationship between the two and for what I am seeing, it is nearly impossible to happen.

"There's a fifty-fifty chance of it so don't be thrilled", Lucifer said. "Bridges are those who have the ability to be in both darkness and light but chose to be in between instead."

I felt the gazes that Purah are giving to me. It was like he's analyzing my face very deeply and finding some things that can amuse him more. Obviously, he seems to be surprised at me and by the looks of him, he looks like he wants to throw me at a laboratory and do some experiments to me.

"I don't want to do that, okay? Lucifer and the other archangels might kill me. I still have a long years ahead", he told me which I just rolled my eyes. They really love reading my thoughts.

Lucifer walk towards us and smile at Purah. Purah look at him and raise an eyebrow. "What? What do you want?", he asked.

"You know what I want", Lucifer answered and patted Purah's shoulder.

Azrael look at them confusingly but then he remembered something.

"Don't tell me, you are trying to get him on your side?", Azrael asked the King of Hell.

Lucifer laughs and nodded. "Why are you so good at making guesses now? I also want Ainsley but she seems to have a very irritating body guard around her so maybe next time, miss?", he said and wink at me.

I felt Azrael's hand hold my arm. "You won't get her."

"Let's see", Lucifer smirked and grabbed Purah before they both disappeared.

I looked at Azrael when he suddenly let go of my arm and walk passed at me.

Eh? He was very overprotective before but now, look, he now suddenly leave. Tsk.

I followed him but he obviously had a big feet that I almost walked and run until we reached our meeting place.

Upon entering the house, I caught Elinora and Madison watching a movie. I also saw Elinora's son playing beside them.

"Oh, there you are. Ainsley, this is my son, Elvis", Elinora introduced me to her son.

His son look at me and wave his hand. "Hi", he said in a cute tone.

I smiled at him at move closer to him. "Hi Elvis!", I cheerfully wave at him.

He giggles and give me some of his toys which we both then played.

For a 6 years old child, Elvis isn't talkative unlike the other kids of his age but he had already a mature decisive mind.

I asked Elinora what happened to her son but she just told me that it may be because of her abusive husband which is now in jail.

Elinora gave birth very young so at a very young age, she needs to swallow all the criticisms and hate comments of people, especially her family who also abandon her after learning she is pregnant.

I also knew that Elinora was abused by his husband for straight 3 years right after their child was born because of poverty.

After meeting Madison, Elinora had a courage to stand on court and punish her husband which led to her husband's imprisonment.

Thankfully, after his husband got released on prison, he didn't showed up to them after because Mason and the rest of the squad stands to guard them.

Madison also offered them a house with few guards to guard them fully which they gladly accepted.

I can say that having a great rich friends like Madison and Mason are really great. Jayden is also rich but if we're talking about who is the richest one here in the squad, it may be Azrael because of his years of experience and antiques that may cost more than a fortune.

"Mom, I want to go to the circus", Elvis told his mom.

"Circus? Why?", Elinora asked Elvis and carry him onto her lap.

"My classmates told me it was fun and I want to see a clown", Elvis answered.

I smiled bitterly. I hate clowns. I really really hate clowns. I don't know why but seeing one gives me chills that I don't understand. But I find them so creepy.

"Okay, let's go the the circus tomorrow. It is Sunday tomorrow so I think it is open at that time", Elinora said that made Elvis smile in happiness.

I saw Madison searching for some circus nearby and she immediately found one which is 2 hours away from here.

"You're going to the circus?", Azrael asked us from the door of his room.

Elinora nodded. "Yes, tomorrow. Why? You want to join us?", she asked.

"Yes, of course. But you may ask the woman sitting next to you. I read her mind just a few minutes ago", Azrael answered and look at me.

Can I know how to block my mind to them? There is some spell or incantations to it, right? Damn! I am just so really tired of this mind reading thing.

Madison and Elinora both look at me confusingly. "Do you want to come with us?", Madison asked me.

I heard Azrael chuckled before I can answer. "I-I had a fear on the clowns", I answered.

Elinora gazed at me shockingly but also worried. "You had a coulrophobia? It's okay if you don't go with us", Elinora said.

Elvis look at me and hug me. "I-it's okay", he said cutely copying her mother.

I smiled and hug Elvis back. If I want to have a child, I want him or her to be this sweet to me.

"Nevermind that. I may be used to it after seeing it", I said calmly to them after parting with Elvis.

"Does that means, you're coming with us?", Azrael asked me.

"I think so?", I answered that made them smile.

"If you can't do it, it's okay", Madison assured me.

I smiled. They are very concerned about me. Well, we are all concerned about each other's lives.

The day had passed and we all went to the circus. Jayden couldn't come with us since he had some unsolved case to do.

Meanwhile, I am always free every weekends so I came along with them and also, I already told them I would come.

The circus were full of children and youngsters. Every rides are always fully loaded but then, the horror house in the circus only allowed up to five people each thirty minutes to go inside or a full tour inside.

"The horror house was so creepy", Bliant said.

Mason laugh at him. "Do you think there aren't any horror house that are not creepy?", he asked that made Bliant pouted.

"Don't tease our baby boy. Elvis, where do you want to go first?", Elinora asked her son.

"I want the horse one, mommy", Elvis answered.

"Okay, let's ride that one", Elinora said and walk towards the merry go round ride.

"Guys, if you want you can make a tour here. Let's just meet before lunch", Elinora said before they finally rushes towards the ride.

I look at the map I was holding which was given to us before in the entrance.

"I'll go with Bliant", Mason said and pull Bliant towards him and headed to the roller coaster ride which made Bliant scared.

"I'll go with Elinora", Madison said and bid goodbye to us.

And that made me and Azrael alone.

I look at him but he also look at me. "So, where should we go?', I asked him.

He shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know, you have the map", he answered sarcastically.

I rolled my eyes. "I want to go to the horror house though", I said.

"Then go. They said there's a real ghost in there", he told me back that made me amazed.

"Really? Let's see that one", I said excitedly.

Azrael sighed and walk towards the horror house first.
