It’s been a couple nights since Eve has been staying in the hospital for surveillance. The doctor moved her to the psych ward, giving her what she needed. During these couple nights, Eve has been having trouble sleeping. The doctor gave her sleeping pills on top of antidepressants.
Eve has been faking taking the pills and storing them under her pillow in some toilet paper she snuck inside her room. During this time, Eve has been pretending to be getting better, but in reality, she’s been getting worse.
One night Eve hallucinated Lexie in her room. This hallucination made her manic, screaming and crying. Eve had enough of these hallucinations, all they did was mock her, telling her how pathetic she was for failing her attempt. Deep down, she knew this wasn’t Lexie but she couldn’t stop from it affecting her. During this night, Eve took the wad of toilet paper out from under her pillow, unraveling the pills.
It was this moment that Eve succeeded in her second attempt. She swallowed these pills that she’s been storing and didn’t wake up again. Her body wasn’t found until the following morning when the nurse was to give the antidepressants. It was also at this moment they realized she wasn’t actually taking the medication.
The doctors in the ward tried saving her, tried making her throw up the pills but it was too late. Evelyn Sanchez was pronounced dead on June 18th, 2025 at sometime close to midnight.
At Eve’s funeral, set on July 3rd, 2025, Eve and Lexie attend the service. Eve’s grave is right next to Lexie’s, allowing the two friends to be buried next to each other.
Sadness is evident in Eve’s eyes as she watches her parents and Kai crying. Kai requested for their graves to be next to each other and Eve’s parents along with Mrs. and Mr. Collins agreed. Eve didn’t want to see everyone upset like this, all she wanted was to see the girl she fell in love with and best friend again. Lexie, noticing Eve’s emotions, grabs her hand and holds it.
Currently, the two girls are standing at the same spot Lexie was standing when she watched her own funeral happen just about two months back. They watched everyone crying at her funeral by the tree.
After the service, everyone who attended paid their respects to the parents and Eve’s body and left. As everyone started to leave, Kai stayed behind. Curious as to why Kai stayed behind, Eve and Lexie went over to the grave, listening to what Kai was saying.
“Eve, I hope you’re happy with Lexie. Please take care of each other. I’m going to try and live on for the both of you. I’ll miss you both, I already do. Lexie, I’m sorry for everything I've done. I let our friendship bloom so much that I didn't want to tell you how I felt.” Lexie looks at Eve, confused. Eve just smiles, “listen to what he has to say, my love.” Lexie just nods, listening to Kai continue talking. “I liked you for a while now. I told Eve this and planned on telling you. By the time I wanted to tell you, you told me you liked Eve. I couldn’t confess to you knowing you liked someone else, especially Eve. I’ll try to visit you two when I can and introduce you to everyone I date, and again when I marry and have kids. I’ll tell your story as if it’s my own. I love you both and I hope you live happily in the afterlife.”
After Kai spoke, he began to exit the graveyard, wiping any remaining tears that were left. He didn’t have any reason to stay longer.
Hand in hand, Eve and Lexie started to leave the graveyard. The direction they left in made it look like they were walking towards the sunset. As they got closer and out of view from their graves, they began to disappear.
