Ayla's p.o.v
“You will be okay,” my mother mumbled to me as we walked towards the throne room.
She squeezed my hand as I stood in front of the door and gave me an encouraging smile.
I could tell that she wasn't happy, but there was nothing none of us could do.
I understand.
She gave me one last look before opening the door, leaving me to walk inside alone.
My heart jumped when I saw him.
The Northern Alpha.
Alpha Mason.
He looked me up and down as I scowled at the beautiful scent of dark chocolate that filled my nose.
He does look like a gentleman, but you could tell in his, dark, stormy eyes that he was nowhere closed to that.
“Can we get this over and done with?” Alpha Mason snickered right after my father introduced us both.
What an arrogant jerk!
“Alright, let's proceed to the wedding hall.”
Wedding hall?
“Wedding hall?” I questioned as I turned to look at my father.
“Yes, Ayla. You will be getting married to him tonight. The pack members are all gathered in the hall.”
“Wow, really dad? You had this all planned out…" I muttered, feeling heartbroken.
“Ayla I….”
“It's fine, let's get this over and done.” I said sharply.
*Time Skip*
I stood in front of the closed doors to the wedding hall.
My father by my side, our arms were intertwined together.
My father was ready to walk me through the aisle up to my husband to be.
Usually, people are happy when they are getting married, but here I am dreading this whole wedding and everything with it.
“I want you to know that whatever that is happening now isn't something anyone could prevent. We can't change our destiny, Ayla. The Western pack loves you. I and your mother, love you.” My father said.
“I love you too, dad.” I mumbled as I tried to control the tears that were threatening to fall out from my eyes.
I thought I would be getting married to a man that I love, just like my mom and dad did.
Never have I thought that I would be marrying someone I don't love, to not talk of the ruthless Alpha that everyone fears.
I have always imagined finding my own true love, not a royal, no I don't want anything like that.
I want a man with a heart, compassion, and empathy.
Was that too much for me to ask for?
The doors open, I guess that is answer enough.
My father walked me through the aisle.
Up at the altar, the monster of my nightmares stood waiting, I was looking at the ground all the way through.
The Priest talked for a few minutes and we made our vows.
I still haven't looked at my now husband.
“You may now kiss the bride”, the priest said.
I stood still, I could hear my heart racing, the wedding hall gone quiet as night.
Suddenly, I could see him moving toward me.
He placed his hands on my face and kissed me so fast and chaste that I wasn't even sure he actually kissed me.
Finally, I registered what was standing in front of me.
I looked in his eyes, his beautiful eyes, they drifted down to my cheek that is probably red from my encounter with my father.
I have never seen such a color before.
Bright ember, it looked like there was light dancing inside of them.
A sharp jaw and as just as sharp nose, lush lips, and his hair such a dark black I have never seen.
He was beautiful, but his expression is what got me scared.
And his eyes may be the prettiest I have seen, they were also the deadliest.
It reminded me of a predator ready to attack his prey.
Then I started looking at all places, just not his eyes.
I looked at his massive body, pure muscle, then I realized how tall he actually is and that my neck was almost hurting for having looked at his face so long.
He turned and walked down the altar, ready to leave.
I just stood there, not knowing what to do.
“Are you planning to stay there all day? Let's go, mate.”
The way he said, mate, sounded odd to my ears.
It is too late to run away?
Within the crowd, I saw Dalton's face in the crowd, his tiny, rounded face was shaped into a smile.
“Take care.” He mouthed to me.
Once I was outside the big house, I instantly looked behind me, only my father and mother had followed me outside, alone with Dalton.
My father looked unhappy as I bid them my final goodbye before entering the carriage that was waiting for me.
My stomach felt heavy as I peak a look at my mate, from the corner of my eye.
He stared straightforward, rolling his shirt up to his elbows.
Looking around, I looked to find my luggage.
“Oh no,” I muttered, I started to panic a little and around me to see if someone had brought it to me.
“Crap” I muttered.
“Don't swear, it's unladylike.”My mate interrupted me.
His voice made me fall back in my seat.
I was already done with his attitude.
“Let's get this straight. Mr. Tribrid Alpha,” I turned to him, my arms crossed.
He turned to me, his eyebrow lifted in anticipation.
“You are not the boss of me. You will never be the boss of me, just because I'm a…"
“My mate, my Luna, and wife” He interrupted.
“I own you.” He snarled.
“No, you don't.” I replied to him as if he were stupid.
He looked at me from the corner of his eye.
He bit his lip, in thought, for a second or two.
Quickly, his thick hands were wrapped around the back of my neck, pulling me closer to him.
He brought his nose to my collarbone, sniffing up.
After a few seconds, he pushed me back
“You belong to me, don't you ever forget that.” He mumbled.
I scoffed, feeling a little offended, I looked out the window muttering,
“I can't believe this! I never thought that anyone can be more grumpy than Dalton, but here you are, proving me wrong!”
“Who the hell is Dalton?” He asked me, his voice getting louder.
“It's none of your business.”
“Who the hell is he? You are my mate. Have you gotten that through your thick skull?” He asked, his voice even high.
“Wow. A certain Alpha has anger issues.” I rolled my eyes.
“ I told you, you aren't the boss of me. I can do whatever the hell I want. Anyway, he is my cousin.” I lied.
“Don't roll your eyes at me, you little creature.”He growled.
I wanted to keep quiet, but something inside of me wanted me to talk back at him.
I bit the inside of my cheek, trying to stop myself, but I couldn't.
“Anger issues aren't attractive, Mr. Alpha,” I mumbled.
His large hands formed fists,
“If you open that little mouth again, I will punish you,”
Raising my eyebrows, I looked at him with a shocked gaze, my cheeks heating a little.
“Just because you have a tiny flopping thing between your legs doesn't mean you are superior to me. You will never punish me.”
“Don't talk about my d**k that way.” He gnarled as my eyebrows shot up in surprise.
“Someone is insecure. “I leaned into his ear, whispering.
“I wasn't talking about your tiny d**k Mr. Alpha, I was talking about your tail, you pathetic little dog,”
Smirking, I looked at his angry expression.
“Stop the carriage.” He shouted, using his alpha tone.
The carriage stopped almost immediately.
“Get out.” He growled.
“No, I won't.” I replied to him.
“I said, get the f**k out now, unless you want to know why they call me the ruthless Alpha.”
Fear stuck my bones, rapidly, as I got out of the car.
“You will walk back to my pack,” He used his alpha tone again, making my feet move along the road.
Maybe I was a little rude.
