CHAPTER 11 Damien's POV I carried her to her room. Got a tissue and cleaned the blood from her nose. Must be the alcohol I thought, but I couldn't explain the nosebleeds, this was the second time. I was about to put the blanket over her but saw red dots on her feet not so visible but on a closer look you'd see, she also had a little cut from her heels. I went out called Mali and asked for the first-aid box. I got it and applied ointment on cuts on her tendons and a little cut bandage. Now my anger was gone I was feeling bad. I sat on the bed beside her watching her. She seemed so peaceful. I noticed she was sweating and the air conditioner was on. I placed a palm on her head, she was burning up. I went out made a phone call and within 30 minutes a doctor comes rushing in. He attended to her, he administered some injections into the drip he placed her on. I asked about the dots on her legs and her nosebleed. “Mr Voss that might be just a skin reaction and stress for the nosebleeds but how pale she looks tells me she's been sick for awhile but I do suggest a full medical checkup to know what's really wrong” he said and left I didn't leave for my room. I couldn't bear to. There was something growing in me that I didn't like. It was almost morning when she woke up. Her eyes were open for a few seconds but she slept off again. By 8am I had already left for work she wasn't up. I came back from work, she still wasn't up. Mali told me the doctor stoped by and said she was getting better and also emphasized on a full medical checkup when she wakes. I went to my room freshened up and went to hers. She was honestly looking better than yesterday. I watched her for awhile and them left for my room. 8am the next day, on my way down stairs going to work. I heard the sound of plates and cutleries, she was awake. I wasn't planning on breakfast but now I wanted it. I didn't sit far away from her. I sat close. She didn't say anything to me and I didn't to her. I found myself being lost of words. I didn't know what to say. Mali came and asked what I wanted and I said just coffee. She asked mali for a refill she was having pasta. I sat there sipping my coffee slowly. The bruise on her wrist caught my attention “what's this” I said to her. “That's you” she looks at the bruise and then at me. I remembered the other day, how hard I grabbed her hand and how she cried out but I didn't listen. “I'm sorry” I said to her almost the same time I heard her say “thank you”. She looks at me as if startled by me saying sorry. “Mali told me you took care of me” I gave her a look and asked if she was okay. I told her to get a check up and asked about the dots on her legs. “A cheap cream I used in the past, no need for checkups” she said to me. I pushed for it but she didn't listen. Mali came with her pasta. “I feel out of strength and my appetite is gone sorry” she told Mali. “You've been sleeping for almost 2 days Zara” I asked her again to go for a check up but she refused. she left for her room and I left to work. It's been 4 weeks already and we've either been having breakfast together in the morning or I see her watching a movie or sleeping while watching. I found myself always looking forward to go home. I've been so busy with work, with shipping routes back I had to get things flowing as it's supposed to. We've had our wedding a small event only family and close partners were invited. We held the wedding at home. The garden, it was decorated beautifully. Zara helped out with the decorations. Maybe she had nothing else doing I thought. I don't remember much details but I do remember the most memorable moments. When she walked in with her wedding dress, Flowers in her hand, my breathing seized for a moment.she looked really Geogeous, I could tell she was nervous. I shortened her walk distance by walking towards her and walking with her to the priest. Now the time for vows came. We both said our vows and the priest proceeded to the nest step. The kiss. I raised her veil, my hand to her chin lifting her face slightly, the other to her waist pulling her close I leaned in for the kiss. It was like nothing else I didn't want to stop, her lips tasted like a fruit, I can't quite put a name to it. The audience were clapping I had to stop. I pulled away as if surprised by the way I kissed her she looks at me, I don't know what compelled me to but I kissed her again, this time more fiercely like my lips were claiming her — you're mine. I was pulled away by my father shouting “ go boy”. Her lipstick was no where to be found now. It's been weeks and the kiss was still replaying in my head, day and night. I always feel like picking her up from where she sat during breakfast and place her on the table kissing her to my heart's content. She has invaded my thoughts, my head and my heart. I hated it and refused to admit it.
