So she had gotten him a watch, not as a way to thank him, but because she'd wanted to give him something from her too.

Mia had gathered money from the part-time she had done during the summer and had been saving it to buy something for her little sister. That had been the plan initially.
And Mia had, but she had also worked double -shifts to get Jamie something too.
She opened the small box and wondered again whether he’d like it when there was a knock on the door.
