Venus confusedly looked back at him because of his sudden change of mood. 'What-- is he bipolar or something?'
"Huh!" she huffed in a dangerous mixture of amusement and annoyance. The man was not only entitled but also completely ungrateful. Should she just make an enemy out of him? He's definitely testing her patience.
If she was in her normal state, she would either just turn her back and walk away from him and go to where she should be going earlier in time-- only that she forgot where was going to as well, or slap him and call him names for what he did.
Fortunately for him, Venus was still trying to weigh the pros of getting on his good side. 'Think about it, V. Nobody would dare touch you if people thought you were his girlfriend. He also stood up for you a while back, so that's more than enough to establish that you're not someone anyone could just mess with.'
Grey's expression turned back to his irritated mask again when the girl just stared at him blankly. "What, are you expecting me to thank you for saving me? I'm sure the popularity was already more than enough of a thank-you gift for what you did for me, no?" he scowled; his eyes, burning in exasperation.
Honestly, he had no idea who she was either. He just randomly grabbed a girl and introduced her as his girlfriend so that that psycho Sarah would stop stalking and pestering him. He was really done with her drama that he could do everything just so she'd stop!
Still, no matter who she was, Greyson still thought he did her a favor instead. Just with the fact that he introduced her as his girlfriend was more than enough to have people vie for her favor. Introducing her also meant she was not just another delusional girl like Sarah who goes around saying they were in a relationship even though they're not. And he also stood up for her against Sarah, so nobody would ever dare to belittle her in the future even after they'd "break up", because "she was so important to him, he actually defended her against Sarah Lee".
"You don't actually believe everything I said to Sarah, right? Surely, you don't look that stupid or delusional." Grey turned to her with an expression clearly implicating that she was just another random face in the crowd. "Look, I didn't mean what I said a while back. You're nothing special and that's the truth."
Venus raised an eyebrow at the ungrateful guy. "After using me, you have the actual audacity to say to my face that I am nothing special?" she blurted in indignation.
A simper escaped from the man's lips. "What-- you're expecting me to whisper sweet nothings to you? Look, I'm not in the mood for games, sweetheart. I needed someone to pose as my girlfriend so Sarah would leave me alone, and you just happened to be there."
Greyson sighed to himself, thinking that his temporary solution might be worse than the original problem. He thought the woman was more reasonable than most, judging from the way she handled Sarah. But what if she was actually crazier? What if she really believed what just happened and told everyone that she was her girlfriend? Well, he could just break up with her and cut the crap just like he always did. But what if this girl would turn crazy over him too and do worse than the other crazy girls he dated in the past?
Venus shook her head. It was her fault that she didn't believe in rumors after all. "I was expecting you to at least have the most basic manners and say thank you," she sharply responded before turning her back. After all, no matter what the pros are, he used her without her consent.
"Thank you?" Greyson grimaced, "I used you, but you gained more than enough from it. If anything, you should be grateful that I helped you climb the social ladder."
Right. What did she expect from a Monarch member, anyway? Perhaps they were all the same-- arrogant and conceited. On top of that, she was dealing with Greyson Park, the Notorious Charmer of the crew. Wasn't he rumored to treat girls as his toys?
"What an obnoxious entitled sociopath," Venus spat, couldn't hold herself back any longer. "You dragged me into your mess without my consent and you thought you were doing me a favor? Don't you think you're being too cocky to conclude that I'm interested in joining your pecking order and being a slave to your social hierarchy?"
Greyson felt aghast at her sudden outburst. She had been keeping her cool all those times that when she finally drew her last straw, he didn't expect the words that came out of her mouth. When was he ever insulted so intellectually like that-- when had he been insulted by a woman at all? Him? Greyson Park? Since when did anybody have the audacity to insult him?
"Fine!" Greyson complied, though his tone was unnerving and cruel. "Thanks for playing with me."
With that, Venus faced him once more. There was a smirk that suddenly painted upon her lips though the sharpness in her eyes never left. She finally made up her mind about whether she'd have him as an ally or a foe.
Slap!
She unceremoniously slapped him. Her own palms stung from the impact, a complete match with his reddening cheek. Perhaps it was time to conclude their lover's quarrel. There was no point talking to him anymore, anyway.
The Notorious Charmer stabbed her with his flaming gaze, but that wasn't enough to soften the muscles under Venus's skin.
She just looked at him with those determined eyes, unreadable yet humane. 'Who cares if he'd also go after my neck? He needs to be taught some basic manners.'
"Now, we're even," she spoke in a dangerously calm voice before turning her back and walking away from him.
