7. THE NOTORIOUS CHARMER

1122 Words
"You do realize that it's my girl you wanted to slap, don't you?" Greyson removed his arm around her shoulders and started walking away--- but before he could even pace his third step, he grabbed Venus by her wrist and pulled her away with him, leaving Sarah and the audience that gathered around them dazed, unable to believe what they'd just witnessed. Poor Venus Jung looked at the sexy back of her boyfriend then glanced at his hand holding her wrist. Perhaps people would say that it was romantic and she should be proud of being hand-in-hand with her gorgeous boyfriend. But no, she totally was not! Venus's face fell darker and darker with every step she took as she continued to rant inside her head. 'You know that moment when you dread to be controlled but you have no choice but to go with the flow? I hate this! Now, I gotta be dragged again. Ugh!' He was practically dragging her, like a sack of whatever it was inside, to somewhere she didn't exactly know where and her arm already stung from his grip. Secondly, why the hell would she be proud to be hand-in-hand with him when he was pulling her somewhere and she felt like she already looked like an i***t being hauled? And lastly, he was not really her boyfriend. For pete's sake, she didn't even know him personally! Why did she even agree to the ridiculous crap, in the first place? "Wait, wait, wait!" Venus irritatingly snapped at him as she pulled her hand, contradicting the direction he was heading. She couldn't contain it anymore. He has been pulling her to an undefined destination for a few minutes already. "I said wait!" she spoke in a louder voice and pulled away for the second time. For some reason she didn't know, he didn't let go of her hand. Nevertheless, he finally stopped his pace and glanced back at her with a clear impatience and annoyance written all over his face. "What?" he glowered. 'Wow! I didn't know that he should be the one to feel angry.' As far as she was concerned, she was peacefully, uncaringly, walking then he suddenly grabbed her and introduced her as his girlfriend. Not only did he make her life more complicated by that declaration, but she was also dragged for a few minutes in a tight grip without her consent. Shouldn't she be the one to have the right to be angry between the two of them? He glared at her, still waiting for an explanation as to why she interrupted him. Venus bravely glared back. "Where the hell are you going?" she asked in a low, annoyed tone. She didn't know why she didn't shout at him either. Maybe because he was too handsome to be shouted at-- plus he really looked so sexy in a dangerous way because of the sharpness in his eyes. "Why the hell do you care?" he answered in a bit calmer tone yet the irritation never left. Sure, she was a bit interesting because of her boldness, but that doesn't mean she was anything special. She was just another girl in the crowd for him who happened to be there when he needed a fill-in girlfriend. Was he indebted to her? He didn't think so. In fact, she should be grateful that he fulfilled her one-minute fantasy of becoming the girlfriend of the Greyson Park. Venus rolled her eyes at him which caused his glares to become sharper. Truth be told, she was starting to get annoyed at his stubbornness and arrogance, but she chose to keep her cool this time. She has already enough scores with "scary" people on the campus. First, there was Azrael Kim who's probably already plotting her murder. Then, there was Helios Jeon who was definitely itching to see her fall. And there was also that queen bee, Sarah Lee, who's ready to grab her hair at any chance she'd get. Not to mention, all the fanatics on their campus were absolutely waiting for the go signal from these people to pounce on her like ravaged wolves. It had only been half a month since she got accepted into the Imperial University. Would she be able to afford another enemy-- another Monarch, at that? 'Perhaps, I could use this girlfriend bs to my advantage instead,' she thought. Indeed, maybe that "accident" was a blessing in disguise to save her from her forthcoming demise! "Because you're literally dragging me with you? Hello! What am I– a sack of stones?" she sarcastically told him in a miraculously quiet voice as she stared at him with evident flares. His expression became-- she didn't know if she could consider it softer because his eyes turned kind of quizzical. His lips were still densely pressed with each other and his forehead was still deeply knotted. Venus sharpened her gaze at him even more. 'Oh, no, please don't tell me that he's not aware that he's been dragging me all along.' She was about to yell at him in anger and frustration when he let go of her hand and spoke in a different tone. "Just continue your way to somewhere before this even happened." No more annoyance in his voice, just pure sincerity, as if he wanted to apologize for dragging her into the mess but, for some reason he couldn't. Venus confusedly looked back at him because of his sudden change of mood. 'What-- is he bipolar or something?' If she was in her normal state, she would either just turn her back and walk away from him and go to where she should be going earlier in time-- only that she forgot where was going to as well, or slap him and call him names for what he did. Fortunately for him, Venus wasn't her normal self at the moment. She didn't know either what that meant; she just felt like it. She really didn't understand herself oftentimes. Perhaps being a genius didn't deprive her of being stupid. Grey's expression turned back to his irritated mask again when the girl just stared at him blankly. "Do you have a death wish or something?" he scowled; his eyes, burning in exasperation. Honestly, he had no idea who she was either. He just randomly grabbed a girl and introduced her as his girlfriend so that that psycho Ha-neul would stop stalking him. He was really done with her drama that he could do everything just so she'd stop! He turned to with an expression clearly implicating that she was just another random face in the crowd. "Look, I didn't mean what I said while back. You're nothing special and that's the truth."
