'That feeling when you're in your own world--- happy and peaceful. Then someone just grabs you off to somebody else's world then boom! Chaos!'
That was what Venus's mind was ranting. A minute ago, she was busy browsing her phone, alone in her own peaceful world as she paced towards the dorms when someone suddenly grabbed her arm. She was about to fight back but the stranger firmly put his hand around her shoulders, taking her too aback to actually resist
"She is my girlfriend," the man declared, causing the people around them to gasp and have their mouths hung open.
'His what, now?' she exclaimed in her head as more confusion clouded her ability to reason. Venus's eyes popped out before she glared at the guy's arm that yanked her. She lifted her chin up to supposedly kill him with her sharp gaze and confront him-- but her expression turned into more confusion when she witnessed the face of the guy who introduced her as his girlfriend to practically everyone around them.
His hair was the softest shade of brown, matching his big yet chinky eyes that complemented the perfect glory of his face-- his pinkish-plump lips. The smile that stretched his lips was a mixture of innocence and mischief. It was a curve that was rather charming than threatening.
What was so odd was that Venus couldn't keep her eyes off him. The warmth that tingled her nerve endings because of their close bodies didn't help either. Her mind wanted to struggle free from his luring embrace, but he literally blew her mind as if his charms were commanding her to do nothing but stare and admire his face.
"What do you mean? That stupid b***h is your girlfriend?" yelled a girl as if she wouldn't seem to believe what the guy just claimed. Of course, she knew her! She was that uncultured girl who poured coffee on Z in front of the whole school, a day ago! She was literally a criminal in the Imperial and the students were already planning on what they would do to make her life miserable! "You couldn't be dating peasants who don't know their place!"
That slapped Venus back to reality. However, instead of pouring her attention onto the arms that possessively snaked around her, she turned her deathly glare toward the girl.
Sarah Lee. One of the self-proclaimed queen bees in the Imperial. She usually acted so high and mighty as if she was the most important person in the world, even bullying students from a less prestigious family than hers. She was a typical brat who thought the world was in her hands simply because her father was the governor and her family owned some clothing and cosmetic brands.
"What did you just call me?" Venus couldn't help but say. Under her normal temperament, she wouldn't be doing that-- especially since she knew who the girl was, but her words irritated her way too much. Who said she would cower just because she's a politician's daughter?
The girl's angry wrinkles turned as sharp as the daggers she was sending her. Sarah's blood-red lips stretched into a daring grimace. She just couldn't wait to put a nasty thing like her in her rightful place. How dare a soon-to-be outcast like her date him when he was one of the Monarchs? "You heard me," the unknown stranger stubbornly spat, crossing her arms before adding, "Stupid b***h!"
'Oh, you did not!' An amused chuckle automatically escaped from Venus's mouth. At first, she thought she would explain the misunderstanding in a calm, mature manner since she knew who the girl was. She wasn't planning on being a part of the drama but really hated it when people associated her with the B word. Not that she has a grudge against mare dogs. She simply knew the word was only for ill-mannered girls who lacked self-respect. And her? Stupid? Not with a straight A+ on her report card. No.
Venus pulled out her most innocent smile and laid her head on his chest to irk the girl more. "I know it's not something you would understand, but it's not my fault that I'm pretty, you know," she calmly spoke before she looked at her with pity as if she just told her a piece of really sad news. "Life is unfair, but at least you're rich. You can get some surgery done with your money."
The girl's face became more distorted by what she said. "Do you even know who you're talking to?"
"Don't give me the cliched drama of beauty on the inside," Venus sassed with a gentle voice once more, still wearing an angelic expression as she ignored the other's question, "because clearly, you don't have it either. Too bad, surgery and makeup can't help you with that. Maybe therapy can."
"What---"
"Oh, I know!" Venus sweetly exclaimed with a sympathetic smile. "Jesus can definitely help you with your ugly soul. You should be born again!"
The man beside her couldn't help but chuckle at her remarks. Though he just randomly picked her in the crowd, he couldn't be prouder of his choice of a woman. He thought she would cower in fear and intimidation because of Sarah, one of the proclaimed queen bees of the school. He didn't know if she was being innocently sincere because of her sweet voice or if she was simply that evil and sassy.
Sarah's brows united into one hilariously crooked line which made her look more obnoxious. She has never been insulted or ever talked back to before--- worse, be called ugly! How dare this peasant humiliate her in front of Greyson Park? How dare she call her ugly when she was literally a sought-after cosmetics model in the whole country? Sarah raised her hand to slap Venus but the guy beside her stopped the drama queen.
"Why would you stop me, Grey? She deserves a slap!" she argued with him as she stabbed her with her deathly glares.
Greyson just looked at her with an expressionless face as if he didn't care about her humiliation or pain, then said, "You do realize that it's my girl you wanted to slap, don't you?"
