Chapter 1: The deal that night
The night in the imperial capital was deep, neon lights flowed on the glass curtain wall, and the cold white light illuminated a corner of the presidential suite on the top floor of the hotel.
Su Wanyin sat on the edge of the bed, hugging her knees with her hands, her fingertips were cold. The air conditioner was turned on very low, but she didn't feel cold. It seemed that the temperature in her bones was drained out, leaving only shock and shame.
The door hadn't been opened yet, but she knew that the man who was coming would completely change her life.
"As long as you stay with him for one night, five million can be transferred to your sister's account."
The intermediary woman spoke indifferently, and when she put the contract in front of her, she didn't waver at all.
"Don't worry, there will be no evidence left, and your identity will not be revealed. What he wants is "clean" - an innocent girl like you who just graduated from medical school is the type he specifically wants."
Su Wanyin bit the corner of her lip tightly, and her fingertips sank into her palm.
She could refuse, but she couldn't watch her sister wait in the intensive care unit for a matching life-saving test.
Five million, life-saving money, is the end of all hope for her entire family.
She took the pen tremblingly, her fingers wanted to loosen several times, and then clenched several times.
Finally, she wrote her name on the paper -
Su Wanyin.
After she signed, she leaned back in the chair as if her soul was drained, and her eyes went dark.
The door was opened.
The moment she walked in, the whole air became colder.
The man was wearing a well-tailored dark gray suit, with a tall and straight figure and a cold face that was almost sharp. He didn't look at her, but just glanced at the room lightly, took off his watch and put it on the table.
Silence flowed.
Su Wanyin couldn't help but look up, and at that moment, her heart suddenly tightened.
- That face, perfect as if carved out by a knife, every outline was hard and restrained, but it revealed the innate arrogance and majesty.
This is not an ordinary "client".
He stood there motionless, but there was an aura that was so oppressive that she could hardly breathe.
"Are you... the person for tonight?"
The man's voice was low and slightly hoarse, like a fine whiskey rolling down his throat.
Su Wanyin lowered her head, not daring to answer, but just nodded.
He smiled, but the smile did not reach his eyes.
"Looks cleaner than in the photo."
She shuddered all over.
The man stepped closer, stood in front of her, and lifted her chin with his fingers. She couldn't help but hide back, but was held back forcefully.
"Don't pretend to be pure. I don't like women crying, after all, you are here... to trade, right?"
Her face was deadly pale.
At that moment, she wanted to escape, but her knees were so weak that she couldn't stand up at all.
"Can we... just... sleep? Nothing else."
His eyes darkened and he sneered.
"What do you think?"
Every second of that night was torture and humiliation for Su Wanyin.
She hid under the white sheets and cried silently, but the man seemed unmoved. He looked at her crying coldly, as if he was looking at an object without any emotional value.
Late at night, the man smoked a cigarette and remained silent for a long time in front of the window.
He didn't even look at her again, and got up and left, without even leaving his name.
In the room, there was only the smell of cigarettes and her trembling figure wrapped tightly.
Three hours later, Su Wanyin received a call from the hospital.
"Your sister's account suddenly has an extra five million. We can arrange a bone marrow transplant surgery immediately."
She burst into tears in an instant.
After leaving the hotel, she locked herself in the rental house for three whole days, tore up the "contract" and threw it into the toilet, forcing herself to forget that night.
But the reaction of her body reminded her day by day——
The consequences of that night cannot be erased.
A month later, she began to vomit.
Two months later, the hospital confirmed that she was pregnant.
Back to reality, Su Wanyin stood at the door of the hospital, holding the test report in her hand, her face as pale as paper.
"Six weeks pregnant."
Her knuckles were stiff, and she murmured to herself: "No... I can't keep it."
But just as she turned to leave, she suddenly staggered, squatted down against the wall, and covered her lower abdomen.
The life that was traded quietly took root in her body.
"You are innocent..." She closed her eyes, and tears quietly slid down.
"That night, I sold my dignity for my sister's life."
"This time, I'll gamble on fate and give you a chance to live."
She decided to keep the child.
What she didn't know was that -
In the commercial center of the imperial capital, dozens of kilometers away, at the headquarters of the Li Group, the man who crushed her overnight was frowning at a personnel file.
"Su Wanyin?"
"President, I can't find the information of the person you want. Only this person's name barely matches... She is a medical student who suddenly dropped out three months ago."
Li Jingchen's eyes were cold.
"Keep looking."
"Find her wherever she is, no matter where she hides."
"She took something that didn't belong to her - I have to take it back."
