Chapter 4 How It Went to This? Ring... Ring... Ring... "Rhone! Wake up!" Riza, Rhone's mother, stormed into the room. "WAKE UP! You're gonna be late for school!" "YAYAYAYA!" Rhone quickly got out of bed and started eating breakfast. "Alright, Ma. Let's go." --- Riza walked Rhone to school. "Here." She handed him some money. "Be wise with it, okay?" "I'm going home now. I'll be the one picking you up later." "Okay!" "Bye-bye, Mama!" Rhone waved before running toward his classroom. --- "YO, RHONE!" One of his classmates greeted him with their usual secret handshake. "Sup, dawg? What a miracle! You actually came to school!" "HAHAHAHA!" "Hehehe." "Come to my house later." "Let's play Rules of Survival." "Alright, man." Another classmate walked over. "Yo, Rhony!" "Long time no see." "Why the f**k were you absent for a whole week?" "Ma'am Liza even asked if you were already a teacher." The three of them burst out laughing. "Dang..." "She really said that?" "HAHAHAHA!" A third classmate called him over. "Sit here, bro." "I gotta tell you something." "What?" "Theresa and Angel are arguing because of you." "You dumbass." "How the hell are you pulling girls like that?" "I don't even know." "But isn't Theresa our Top 1 student?" "And your ex?" "Shhh!" "Don't say that out loud!" "They might hear you!" "Dang, bro." "Our Top 1 and Top 3 are fighting over you." Before Rhone could answer... "Rhone." Ma'am Liza called him. "Long time no see." "Alright, class." "I want everyone to review for ten minutes." "And Rhone..." "Come to my desk." "Bring your excuse letters." --- Rhone and Ma'am Liza talked for several minutes. "Rhone..." "You can't keep skipping school." "When you reach high school, your grades will catch up to you." "You might even fail." She continued talking... But Rhone had already drifted off into his own thoughts. He stared blankly out the classroom window. "..." "Yo." His classmates snapped him back to reality. "What are you looking at?" "Huh?" "Oh, shit." "Where are you guys going?" "To the canteen." "Come on." --- The four of them sat together. "Bro..." "Our canteen has no signal." "My data isn't working." "Same." "Mine too." Rhone smirked. They still haven't changed the Wi-Fi Name? I can hack this. "Yo, guys." "We're getting free Wi-Fi." --- Narrator Rhone was well known during his elementary days. Not because he was the smartest. Not because he was the most hardworking. But because he was a lazy genius... ...and a complete jackass. He eventually graduated from elementary and entered the 7th grade in high school. --- That evening... "MA!" "I didn't expect I'd fail this subject!" Riza looked at his report card. "Your father is going to be furious." "How did you fail Filipino of all subjects?" "I only missed one performance task..." Riza suddenly narrowed her eyes. "Hmm..." "Is it because of that girl?" "Huh?" "What girl?" "STOP ACTING LIKE YOU DON'T KNOW!" "I SAW YOUR PHONE!" "Break up with her..." "...or I'm gonna break your bones!" "You think I wouldn't notice?" "You're only twelve years old and you're already flirting?!" Rhone lowered his head. His hands trembled. "...Yes, po." He quietly grabbed his phone. Rhone: HEY, WE NEED TO BREAK UP. MY MOM SAW OUR CONVO. BYE./Blocked/ He put his phone down... ...and went to sleep. --- The Next Day Rhone looked around the classroom. ...Why is everyone wearing masks? "Yo, Rhone." His friend walked over. "Alliah posted a lot of s**t last night." "Why'd you break up with her?" "...My mom saw our messages." "She would've killed me if I didn't." "Dang..." "She and her friends are spreading rumors about you." "...What rumors?" "They're saying you're a playboy." "A cheater." "And that you flirt with a bunch of girls." "They also said—" "Alright, class." The teacher interrupted. "Please take your seats." "I have an announcement." The classroom immediately fell silent. "Because of the Crownvirus spreading globally..." "The Department of Education has decided to suspend classes for one week." "For now..." "You may all go home." For a second... The room was completely silent. Then— "HOLY s**t!" "WOOOOO!" "LET'S GOOOO!" The entire classroom exploded with cheers. Rhone laughed. "Yo, bro." "Let's play when we get home." End.
