“Emily, Emily, Emily,” her name echoed across the crowd, mingling with the flashing lights and the constant hum of murmured admiration. She was the center of attention, and she knew it. Walking elegantly down the red carpet, her designer dress shimmered under the countless flashes of cameras. Her confidence radiated with every step, but deep inside, she felt a mixture of nerves and exhilaration. Everyone wanted a picture with her. She had come a long way to reach this point—a journey fraught with challenges, heartbreak, and determination. Now, Emily Petals was one of the biggest female actresses in the entertainment industry, and tonight’s event was a testament to her rising stardom. Celebrities gathered around her, eager to share the limelight. She smiled and exchanged polite conversations, accepting compliments with grace. Drinks were passed around, and she sipped hers slowly, mindful of her image. It wasn’t long before Mr. Richard, a man infamous for his lecherous reputation, made his move. “You’re stunning, inside and out,” he said, his voice smooth as silk but laden with predatory undertones. His fingers trailed down her arm, a gesture that made Emily’s stomach churn. “Thank you,” she replied with a practiced smile, though the irritation and discomfort were evident in her eyes. She stepped back subtly, hoping to create distance, but Richard wasn’t ready to let her go. “Hey, Emily,” he said, grabbing her arm lightly, “don’t be in such a hurry to leave. The show isn’t starting just yet. Let’s chill and get to know each other better.” Emily’s smile vanished, and her eyes hardened. She pulled her arm free with a firm yet composed motion. “I don’t know what you want to talk about, but I’m not interested,” she said sharply. Without waiting for a response, she walked away, her heels clicking purposefully against the marble floor. Rachel, her assistant and close friend, caught up with her moments later. “The show’s starting in ten minutes. Let’s get to our seats,” she urged, glancing at her watch. Emily nodded but was momentarily distracted by a familiar figure waving at her from across the room. Her heart sank when she realized it was Mika. Pretending not to notice, she turned away, but Mika was persistent. “Hey, Emily!” Mika called out, her tone dripping with faux sweetness as she approached. “I was waving at you, but you didn’t seem to see me, so I decided to come say hi.” Emily forced a polite smile despite the irritation bubbling beneath the surface. “Oh, I see. Nice seeing you, Mika,” she replied, her voice cool and measured as she rolled her eyes discreetly. As Emily turned to leave, Mika added, “Come on, let’s take a picture together.” Emily froze. She knew Mika was trying to provoke her, to create a scene that would inevitably make headlines. Stepping closer, she whispered with an air of finality, “I don’t know what you want from me, but please stay away from me.” Then, with a graceful smile, she turned and walked away, linking arms with Rachel. The event commenced, and the night unfolded with a series of awards and performances. Emily clapped politely as her fellow actors and actresses took to the stage, but her mind remained focused on the moment she had been waiting for. “And now, for the final award of the evening,” the host announced, his voice booming across the hall. “Ladies and gentlemen, the award for Best Female Actress of the Year!” The audience erupted in applause as the nominees were named. Emily sat frozen, her heart pounding. She barely registered the words until the host opened the envelope and declared, “And the winner is... Emily Petals!” The room exploded in cheers and applause. For a moment, Emily sat in stunned silence, her hands pressed to her chest as if to steady her racing heart. Rachel nudged her, snapping her back to reality. Rising to her feet, Emily made her way to the stage, her colleagues and friends accompanying her. Mika, sitting in the audience, watched the scene unfold with a storm brewing in her chest. Her hands clenched into fists, her nails digging into her palms. “How come she grew so strong and became more famous tha—” she began, but Jaden, her manager, quickly tapped her lap. “Mika, don’t let people hear you say that here,” he whispered urgently, his eyes darting around. But Mika’s anger was uncontrollable. “Let’s get out of here,” she hissed, storming toward the exit. Jaden hurried after her, casting nervous glances at the onlookers. Meanwhile, on stage, Emily accepted her award with grace. She held the gleaming trophy close and smiled at the audience. “I want to say a very big thank you to my crew, the CEO of Starlight Entertainment, and, of course, my beloved mother. I promised to keep making you all proud. I love you all. Have a good night,” she concluded, her voice steady despite the whirlwind of emotions inside her. Back near the exit, Mika paused, her anger reignited by Emily’s words. She turned on her heel and marched toward the stage, ignoring Jaden’s frantic whispers. “Mika! Mika! Stop!” he hissed, but she was deaf to his pleas. As she neared the stage, two security guards intercepted her. “Young lady, you’re not allowed up there,” one of them said firmly, blocking her path. She tried to push past them, her voice rising in desperation. “Emily doesn’t deserve this award!” she screamed, drawing the attention of the entire hall. “I’m far better than her!” The audience gasped, murmurs spreading like wildfire. Emily, still on stage, heard every word. Though she longed to respond, she held her composure, refusing to stoop to Mika’s level. From the crowd, Mr. Richard watched the drama unfold with a calculating gaze. A sly smile played on his lips as he considered how he might use Mika’s bitterness to his advantage. If Emily could be brought down, it would only make her more vulnerable—and Richard loved a challenge. Elsewhere in the audience, Noah, the CEO of Starlight entertainment industry,is also known as the king of the industry. He observed the scene with interest. He leaned toward one of his bodyguards and whispered instructions. “Find out everything you can about those two women,” he said, his eyes lingering on Emily. Her beauty and poise had captured his attention, and he was determined to learn more.
