Melanie’s POV I pressed the doorbell and waited for Alice to come open the door. May and I ended up chatting for longer than I intended, but it left me in a good mood. I was glad that they were doing okay. Compared to when Luke was brought in a few months ago with end-stage heart failure, things have really turned around for them. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the story for most people and it made me sad thinking about how many people died waiting for an organ.
