Melanie’s POV
After a few more moments of back and forth between me and Hayley, I agreed to cover the rest of her shift so he could go home and get ready for her date.
The rest of the shift was uneventful and I was grateful that I didn't cross paths with, Lydia. Maybe she was so tired that she passed out in one of the on-call rooms, I didn't really care what she did as long as she kept far away from me.
I did get some good news though, Luke could be discharged in a week. Everything was looking good, he wasn't rejecting the organ, the incision site had been healing well and he had made great strides in physical therapy, all good news.
I was happy for him and his mom. Hopefully, May would be able to spend more time with his son and Luke can finally act like a normal middle-school kid, ma
