Victoria pov
The day has break and the event of last night flash back in my mind. I sit up and carry the file again in my hand, ten million dollars as compensation. Is that how fast he wants to get rid of me?
Loneliness wrap me like a cloth. Marcus went out last night leaving me all alone. Could it be that he went to be with Selena? Where did I go wrong?
Tears tickle down my cheeks. I drag myself from the bed to the kitchen to find something to eat when I see Stella cleaning the kitchen.
“Good morning Luna, the food was not touched.” She asked.
“Yes… the Alpha didn’t come home yesterday because of work.” I lied as I try to make oat for myself.
“Are you okay, you look pale Luna.” She says and I put up a fake smile on my face so she won’t have to ask me more questions.
Luckily I hear the door open and Marcus comes into view, I quickly follow him upstairs to talk to him.
“Do you really believe I planned Selena’s kidnap?”
“All evident points to you Victoria so don’t play the victim.”
“But we are mates!!!!”
“I don’t care. Do you think my mom is my dad mate? No she isn’t and even when dad found out about his mate, he rejected her.”
“Our marriage was a mistake,it was not suppose to be. Dad forced me into getting married to you which was to your advantage. Now, the woman I love is back.” He says and he left, that ended the conversation.
I sit on the bed feeling heartbroken. Was this really the man I fell for.
When we were in college, I was the hottest girl in school. All the boys wanted to date me because of my personality. I was the daughter of Alpha Leo. My father’s pack was the biggest and he was known for been successful in his business. Aside that, I was the top student in school too and even though everyone wanted me, I wanted Marcus and I was sure I didn’t want anyone else.
But now, all my hope has crumbled. My phone begins to beep and I hope that it was Marcus but instead I see Claire’s name.
“Where are you Victoria?? You need to come to the hospital.”
“Okay, I am on my way.”
I alert my driver Daniel to get ready for us to get to the hospital.
“Is everything fine Luna.”
“Yes, just drop me off at the hospital.”
We reach and I head to the secretary to tell her about my appointment with the doctor. I begin to hear whispers from other staff wondering why I am back again. I pretended not to hear, and try to talk with the secretary.
“Let me con…”
“She is with me.” Claire said with a smile as she pulled me inside her office.
“Is everything alright? Is my child fine.”
“Yes all is fine but there is something wrong with you.”
“Me??”
“Yes Victoria, your vitals are very low even as a werewolf.” She says.
“Don’t worry too much about it, I’ll dig into it and secondly, I want to let you know that you are carrying twins.”
“Twins?” I ask just to be sure.
“Yes Victoria but with how low your vitals are, I don’t think you will be able to ever give birth again.” She said and fear grip me.
“Do what you can to save my children.” I say and she nods promising to make sure I and my children are fine. Before I leave, I decide to ask her a question.
“Claire, will rejection affect my babies?”
“No, but it will weaken you, what happened?” She ask with concern. Claire is not just my Doctor but she is also my best friend but I can’t tell her what has happened.
“Nothing Claire, I’ll call later.” I say with a smile on my face forcing the tear that threatens to drop back.
I am home and packing my stuff into my boxes as I stare at the documents again. I have to accept my fate now, I take a pen and sign the file.
I call mom to ask if I can come stay with her and she agrees but In turn ask me what the problem is but instead of giving her an answer on phone, I promised I would tell her once I arrive.
One more look at the house that I and Marcus made memories, I want to cry but it won’t help because Marcus has made up his mind so will I.
I call Daniel to pack my bags and drop me at my mother’s place. I hate the fact that it looks like I am now a burden to my mother but once she sees me at her door steps where neighbors are already peeping from their windows to know who has come to visit.
“Mom.” I manage to say without breaking down.
“Don’t cry child, we will be fine.”
I tell mother all that has happened, she worries that fate has decided to repeat itself again.
Mum cleans a room for me and pack all my things into it. I stare at the window hoping I’ll see Marcus car outside, coming to take me home but I’m been delusional.
I pick my phone and call Marcus to let him know that I have sign the papers and left his house. The phone did beep for a few moment as though he was expecting my call.
“Hello?” He said and for once I seem to have lost my voice.
“Mmm.. I want to let you know that I have signed the documents and I am not interested in your money.”
“That’s good to hear, you can leave tonight. Selena would move in once you do.” He said.
“Don’t worry I already left the house.”
“Okay, come to the office tomorrow. We will hold the rejection by 10am sharp.” He says and immediately ended the call.
