Chapter Six

Marcus pov

I looked at Wills and Claire as the glared at each other.

“You are a fool Will.”

“You’re not different from me.” Will replies back. I hope for the day this two can actually get along. They had dated some years back but after a shitty breakup, they have been thorns in each other’s flesh. Many time, i and Victoria had to settle them.

But their fight is not my concern now, Victoria is.

“How are the kids?” I asked after I realized that I made a big mistake and now both my mate and kids are far away from me.

“They died.” Claire said and looked away as if it hurt her to tell me. My heart felt a stab of pain as I process the fact that my unborn children are dead before they could come into the world.

“Are you serious Claire?” Will ask.

“Of course, why are you even questioning me?”

I turn to face the window, trying as much as I can to stay strong but it hurts.

Was that what she wanted to tell me that night when I broke the news of our divorce?

“What did you want to tell me?”

“Nothing, it’s not important.” Tha was her reply.

I didn’t even give much as to why she wanted to get done with the rejection or why she didn’t even accept the drink I offered her.

“She killed my children.”

“Don’t make her look like the bad person Marcus.” I hear Claire say and I angrily walk to her side grabbing her neck.

“What did you just say to me?”

“You caused all of this, and now you want to blame her.” She says and it rings a bell in my head that she is correct. None of this is Victoria fault.

If I had not told her about the divorce, she would have told me about the pregnancy.

“How could she be selfish.” I say as I slam my hands to the wall next to Clair before Will runs to my side to hold me.

“This is on you Will. I told you not to let him know because I know how hurt he would be once he finds out just like Victoria was hurt when she realized her kids would be gone.” Claire says and as she takes the file from the table.

I don’t blame her for taking the side of her friend. I know she hates me too for what has happened but she’s only talking calmly to me just because I am her Alpha.

“What happened Marcus?” Selena ask as she runs to my side and wrap her hands around me.

“I killed my children.” I say as I unwrapped her hands from mine.

“Victoria was pregnant?”

“Not like you care.” Will says while giving her an angry glare.

“You deserve this hurt Marcus, she was really going to tell you, but you were so engrossed in way more important things.” She says before looking at Selena who groans at her.

“She decided she didn’t want to tell Marcus and accepted the rejection, how then is it his fault?”

“No one asked for your opinion here Selane.” Will answers.

“You all can continue this conversation, I’ve got better things to do.” Claire says as she steps out of my office , slamming the door soo hard to show her anger.

“Don’t worry Marcus, I’ll give you pups. Victoria just showed how weak she was. An ordinary rejection can’t make her lose her kids. This only shows that she wasn’t fit to carry your children neither be a Luna.” Selena says as she wraps her hands around my arm.

“Can you let him go and stop making this about yourself?”

“How dare you raise your voice at me? Don’t forget I’ll be your Luna soon.”

“Not even the chickens would accept you.” Will says, his responses angering Selena the more and the continue to exchange words.

I had no choice but to divorce the her but this has caused me a lot.

“I am a murderer.” The word slip from my mouth as I now back to the present.

“You did nothing wrong….”

“OUT.”

“Marcus, don’t push me away…”

“I said GET OUT, both of you.” I say as I force my aura on them. They stand no chance again me and so the obey me.

Now alone, with my gloomy thoughts,I take out my phone and dial Victoria’s number again hoping that maybe this one time she would pick up and then we can talk.

Unfortunately, I get the same old response.

I remember how Victoria father had called me a good for nothing Bastard for not protecting his daughter but causing her pain. I really don’t know how I would have made he understand that I did this for her.

Selena had confirmed that Leo wasn’t himself after his search declared Victoria missing. Alpha Leo had even threatened to kill me if he couldn’t find his daughter. Because of this issue, Alpha Leo had asked Selena to return to him but she refused stating that would stay with me.

I won’t blame her for staying with me. She loved me just the way she did while at college before she got kidn*pped by her own sister. I didn’t want to believe that Victoria, my innocent mate could be so desperate to kidnap her sister, until I saw the heavy transfer of money to another account.

Even though she hurt me by doing such a thing to her sister ,I feared that she might have gone into the enemies pack for shelter, knowing that I would never look for her there.

I dropped to my chair with my head in my hands, trying to stable my thoughts. I wondered if she ever loved me because if she did, she wouldn’t have accepted the rejection and get the children killed. Both of us were to be blamed for this

She left and not only her, Evelyn, her mother was gone too, leaving her home which was in the quite side of the city empty.
