Marcus pov
I had men in place watching over Victoria and notify me about any movements, just in case She returns back. Her cell phone has been out of reach for some month now and I would be lying if I say I wasn’t worried about her.
I asked for her bank records to see her transactions, maybe it would give me a hint of where she is but the money that I had deposited in her account after the divorce has not been touch too. Her international passport was not in use either and neither did she come come around the pack office to get her divorce certificate from me.
It was more like she disappeared without a single trace, not wanting anyone to find her including her father who according to her sister Selena, their father was still looking for her too and the search has yielded no result.
Although Selena is Leo’s favorite and most favored daughter, he still picked interest in looking for Victoria. My men still has not seen her too or her mother with leaves me with the conclusion that she is indeed in one of the enemy’s pack.
As save as she may think it is, she is only putting herself in more danger. Where are you? She didn’t have to leave from the pack. I remember telling her to stay but I know she felt bad having to see her sister, my first love next to me.
The guilt in my heart is heavy to bare and the hard truth is still there. I love her but I did the right thing to divorce her even though she didn’t deserve it.
A knock on my door pulls me out of my thought and then one of my staff members steps in.
“Alpha, I have received an information from the borders that your parents are back.”
“WHAT!!” No, they can not be back now till after three months. Panic sets in as I begin to pace down my office wondering what I’ll tell them.
Dad and mom have been going on trips together since I got married to Victoria knowing that the pack was in good hands. But now that she is gone, well, I thought they would stay a lot longer so I would know how I’ll inform them about my divorce.
“Get the cook to begin preparing some dishes and make sure you stuck the fridge.” I say to him.
“I am sorry Alpha but they are almost here and none of that would be possible.” The young man tells me and instead of getting angry, I sigh because he is correct.
It has been long since I visited the house, since I got the divorce, I spend my days in the office because home reminds me of her.
Everywhere I turn brings back memories of both of us and so the more I spend time at home, I know I’ll definitely go insane.
Victoria knew how to make arrangements to receive both of my parents. From decorating the house to making different meals which my mom always loved.
Peeping through the window, I see my fathers car pull over at the entrance of the pack’s office. I rush down to welcome him just in time to bump into Will and other men.
They stood with their shoulder straight, legs apart and hands behind their back. Just as father likes. Stepping out of the car is my father dressed in a well ironed black suit, his favorite color with a frown on his face as his eyes met mine.
Next to him is my mother, dressed in a ball see green gown with a smile on her face as she steps forward with my father.
“Welcome Mom and Dad.” I say, trying to look bold. My father hates to see any sign of weakness in anyone not even his son. He eyes me thoroughly before answering me.
“Where is my grand welcome?” Mom questions. I am speechless for a while as I try to figure out a lie that would sound convincing to her.
Every since Victoria came into my life, my mom had taken her as her child and loved her even mom than me, her son. With Cictoria gone, home would be a living hell for me.
“Why ain’t you answering? Or is it a surprise?” She says with a big smile. Dad looks over at me before walking inside the house.
“Welcome Luna.” I hear Selena voice behind me and I cursed under my breath. Why is she here of all time. Now standing next to me with some fresh flowers, she hands them over to my mom who in return looks at me demanding answer.
Answers that I am not ready to give.
“Are you not Victoria Sister?”Mum ask angrily.
“Yes. I am-“
“And why are you here? Marcus, where is my daughter in law?”
The question i have been avoiding has been asked now.
“She is not around.”
“What do you mean not around?” Mum ask and she throws the flower on the floor in front of Selena and walks into the house.
Selena turns to follow but I grab her with anger and demand why she came to welcome my parents. She begins to wince in pain saying she wanted to welcome the Luna and her mother in law to be.
I scold her for been stupid and making this matter very hard to handle before I tell her to get back to the guest quarters.
I step into the house to see my mother and father sitting together and shooting glares at me as I walk into the living room.
“I didn’t know you would be coming back soo soon.” I say trying to lighten the atmosphere a bit.
I get no response from them. I try asking other questions about their trip and how much the enjoyed it but then my question comes to a stop.
“Don’t pretend to be interested in our trip and about how much fun we had. You have never been this Interested Marcus.” Mom says and I look down at my shoes.
Dad looks at me with his usual angry expression and I brace myself for the question that may come next.
“I gladly answered some of your questions, now answer mine. Where is your mate?!”
