Chapter 4: Strange day

954 Words
Hwa Sung noticed the black haired boy who sat right in front of her. He seemed to be paying attention to the lesson when everyone else was hooting, hollering, talking and making noise, and she found that intriguing. He seemed familiar but she couldn't figure out where. She thought long and hard before she remembered. He was that annoying kid who interrupted her conversation with Taltal. Although now he didn't seem so annoying. She snapped out of her thoughts and continued listening to the teacher teach. Jung was taking notes when he heard something which totally contradicted the teacher's previous sentence. Before he had the chance, someone had already corrected the teacher. He turned to check who it was. He was surprised to see the new girl standing. He had glanced over, when he was remembered the conversation at the cafeteria, and noticed she seemed not to care about the lesson ( just like the rest), so he was pretty much shocked to find out she caught on to that mistake. He shrugged it off and continued listening. He didn't see her the whole day. It was free period and he loved the library and what's more? The library was supposed to be supplied with about a hundred new books. He rushed off . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . and came back to pick a book he left on his desk. The library was quiet, obviously, and at least half full. Jung thought and figured out that he could read two books if he found them within the first five minutes. He searched and found a book. The title on it was 'Anpanman'. Jung just found his first book. He scanned the shelves and a particular book caught his eye. In bold letters were written the words " The Great Gatsby". He had never seen the book before in the library. Must be one of the new books, he thought. He reached out to take it when it was taken from the opposite side of the shelf and a pair of black and golden eyes met his plain brown ones. They were the most sophisticating colour of eyes he had ever seen. He seemed to get lost in them. They were just simply beautiful and intriguing. He seemed to be drawn closer to them. But surely, there wasn't anyone in this school who had weird golden eyes. Before he could react, the mysterious person took off. Il Jung stayed in the position for a few seconds. When he got out of the trance, he suddenly seemed to lose his appetite to read. He could do that any other day. Right now, he just felt like taking a stroll around school. He went to place the book back in its shelf. Baek Il Jung was walking down the hallway, completely spaced out. He bumped into someone who dropped all the books he/she had embraced. Knowing this was partly his fault, he began to apologized profusely, " I'm so so so sorry. I don't know what happened. Mianhaeyo". " Anieyo, don't worry, it's alright ", a melodious voice answered. Uwwa, Jung thought. The girl quickly packed her books and scrambled as fast as she could and weaved through the the wave of students. He couldn't even get a glimpse of her face. All he caught was a blur of black. He was about to walk away when he saw something glisten on the floor. He bent closer and saw it was a bracelet with a snowflake charm. He picked it up and inspected it. Behind it was written this," Lee & Cha 4 ever". He looked back and knew he couldn't return even if he wanted to. He decided to keep it and perhaps give it back later. He went, dazed, to his next class. Finally, school had ended and Jung was released from his cursed prison. He looked for the guys at the parking lot and saw them with a crowd of mostly boys and a few girls. What is with people and crowds today? , he wondered. He went over and couldn't believe his own eyes. There, right in front of him, was a ruby-studded ( and they didn't look like fake ones ) Dodge Tomahawk motorcycle. It's one of the most expensive and fastest motorcycle on the planet. Its owner must be rich to get his hands on this beauty , he thought. Almost as if by default, the new kid, Hwa Sung came over. She always seems to be at the gatherings and somehow the cause of scenes. I wonder how she's involved this time. " What do you think you're doing?", she hollered at a sandy-haired kid, the one closest to the motorcycle. " I'm checking this beauty out", In Ho called out. He thinks he's the buff lord of the school, but everyone all know it's Lee Taehyung. Hwa Sung scowled at the boy who touched the bike. She absolutely detests touchy people. In Ho scoffed, "You're acting like it belongs to you". " That's because it does!". " Burn! ", someone yelled from the back. In Ho's face was priceless when he heard this. He couldn't believe his ears. Hwa Sung sat on the motorcycle, wore her "SKULL" helmet, started it and left without another word. Jung went home awestruck, wondering what type of girl managed to get all of the attention and cause that much havoc all on her first day. But one thing was certain. The rest of the term would surely be interesting. He fell asleep as soon as his head touched his pillow, entirely exhausted. ************************************ Meanwhile, in a beautiful white mansion, in an upper room by a balcony with a beautiful view, a dark shadowy figure seemed to be seriously taking notes of something important with a completely worn out and exhausted look.
