Chapter 1
DECEMBER is coming after a month and I can feel the cold breeze already. New Year; New life. I turned my gaze on my room's window. It was closed because it's already night time but I can see the moon from here, shining bright for my wondrous night. Facing tons of different papers is not that much stressing, mine's well arranged that's why. I bought my needs for bullet journals online because the department store is 5 kilometers away from here. I took my vintage faux leather notebook. My most important notebook. I write all of my thoughts and important agendas here although, this is just for me to see. This notebook is private so it's also placed on a private box. It's already 12 AM and I still can't sleep. Do I have an insomnia? But really, I'm experiencing trouble in sleeping these past few days. To add, this night will be the night that I'll immerse myself to my thoughts about New Year's resolution. A cursive handwritten spring up which is an eye-pleasing view for me. I go through the empty page and started to write: New Year's resolution(s)... 1. I sighed. “This night is freaking me out,” I say to myself and cleared my mind before continuing to write. 1. Spend less money What? I don't think I could do this. I'm about to scratch the page but realizing that I also need to save, I stopped. 1. Spend less money 2. Meet new people At school, I'm more quiet on the any side of the room. Sure, freaks and known students in the school are imperishable. You know what I meant, right? I can't afford the thought of them ruining my last and very important year in high school next year. But I have two friends there, one's a freak and the other has a big social circle. I pursed my lips and continued to write. 1. Spend less money 2. Meet new people 3. Less pizza, less chicken However, these are still healthy for me because it's delicious. End of discussion. When I finished writing six, I go to bed at 2:06 AM. The air that is coming from the ceiling fan is too cold so I turned it off before sleeping peacefully. CLOCKS are not my friend. They are devastating my sleep and I still don't want to get up from bed but there's school so I need to. After preparing myself, Mom's car is already there outside, waiting for me and for my twin. Yes, I have a twin but we are not that comfortable to each other. She once said, “I hope I do not have a twin. It feels like you are copying me, even my habits and behavior.” Well, I don't. We are not that look-a-like. She's more likely our Dad and Mom while me, from my Lola. I think. That's what they're saying so I believed it. There is a big difference between our habits and behavior, she always wants new things. More likely from trends and she's more into crowds and me? I love to be alone and giving importance to old things. Gladly, we aren't going at the same school. When we arrived at school, I gave my Mom a peck on cheek before entering the building. There are still students in corridors since the classes haven't started yet. Maybe a minute or two. I startled when someone's arm linked on mine while walking onto my classroom. It was Roselle. The famous one. “Yo, girl. Have you decided?” She asked but still smiling and greeting our schoolmates that she encounters. I didn't bother to since I don't know them. “What should I decide?” Roselle turns her gaze to me with confused look. “You don't know?! How come– oh, right. You are always outdated,” she moves her brows up and down as if she spilled fact. Well, that's a fact. Before I could sit, Pharaoh showed up in front of my table. Pharaoh is the freak one. She likes this dark styles that I adore because it fits her very well. Stylish enough. “Dude, does cat woman suits me?” She brushes her hair off of her face and flicks her tongue on her teeth with braces. “Anyway, I'll be taking this damn braces off tomorrow. It's annoying, you know.” That's when I realised that they are talking about the costume day next week. It will be held on Friday, October 31. Roselle frowns. “Cat woman? Be more stylish!” “I'm stylish!” “Cat woman suits you. It will suit you since you are taking your braces off.” I say which Roselle frowns again. “Why are you always taking her side and not mine? I'm your first best friend FYI,” she said, rolling her eyes. We laugh at her. Science class started and I know, Pharaoh is having a hard time with this especially that our professor is warming her up in this subject. In opposite, Roselle is outstanding in this class. “I hate Science and Math!” She freaks out when our Professor leaves. Roselle tsked and say, “I love them. They have a big part in my heart.” I yawn while listening to their never ending fights. I'm still sleepy because of last night. “Well, I hate them. Wait, do you know Lucas Adriel De la Cerna? The hot guy from Ms. Cortes' class?” I know that Lucas or barely known as Luke and I don't like him. He knows me either because we were friends once upon a time which I regret but I keep quiet and pretends to be reading my favorite novel. “Well, of course! He's so friendly but didn't plan to be friend with me, at least. I wonder why...” Roselle said and glances at me. I could see in my periphery. She knows that I'm listening and she also knows about mine and Lucas' so called friendship in the past. I'm glad she didn't opened up. Roselle, Lucas, Ryker, Novalee and I were friends long time ago. We parted ways when we reached seventh grade because of a misunderstanding between me and Lucas. Five of us are still in the same school but barely see each other except Roselle, of course. Ryker and Novalee are still my friends but since they are one year ahead of us, they are much busier now in the last year of Senior. “Yeah, yeah. I ran into him earlier this morning and it's annoying that he throws me a “dirty look” and I was like, what the hell?” Her brows furrowed and the annoyance in her voice didn't escape into my ears. Roselle chuckles with laughter and so as me, that's why Pharaoh's mood is very ruined all of the sudden. WHEN my last class dismissed, I quickly run to Roselle's Audi. I'll surely run or else, i'll be left behind. My Mom won't let me drive a car although, I have one but still. In the car, Roselle won't stop talking about how her night will go through. Well, she's throwing a party at their house and we're invited but I'm hesitant to go. I want to study and watch Netflix all night but if I won't go, she will sulk. So that's what happened when the night comes. After dinner, I found myself looking for an outfit to wear, a simple but looking presentable.
