Edited. The Alpha King’s P.O.V “I would like for you to meet your new queen, please welcome her, Miss Layla Bliss.” I said, but as soon as I said her name out loud she looked at me in shock, stood up and ran out the door towards the exit. I couldn't help but smirk, this was yet another reason why I wanted her as my mate. She will always challenge me and that's one of the things I like about her. “Stop her and bring her back here to me.” I mind-linked one of my guards and sure enough they caught her. I couldn't help but smile when I heard her protesting. “Oh come on, give me a freaking break. Let me go! LET...ME...GO!” She said as the guards walked her back towards the ballroom. All heads turned towards my mate, as she walked inside. The guards stood back, as I walked off the stage towards her. She just stood there, with her arms crossed over her chest, a look of annoyance spread on her face. I walked up to her and slid my hand around her waist, she tried to pull away from me, but I just held onto her tighter. “Excuse us everyone, enjoy your night. Your new queen and I will be retiring for the night, to get to know one another better before the crowning ceremony to make her queen.” I said, as I gripped her waist tighter, making her walk with me. I walked her back to the throne room and set her down on what was to be her throne. “Do not try and run again or you will be punished.” I said, smirking at the last part. Layla just sat there glaring at me like I was crazy. “I'm not a child, do not treat me as such. I can do whatever the hell I please.” She said, I could hear the annoyance in her voice as she said this. “The hell you will, I'm the Alpha here. Is that clear?” I growled and she just rolled her eyes at me. “Whatever.” She said, not bothering to acknowledge me. “Someone will be here in a few minutes to show you to our room and if you're not a child, then do not act like one….Little girl.” I said, trying to get a reaction from her and it worked, she was angry. “Little girl?! Seriously?! If you're a man, then act like one. Be one.” She said and before she knew what happened I had grabbed her up and pushed her against the wall. My body was pressed against her and my lips were just inches away from hers, all she had to do was move her head just an inch and our lips would touch. I could feel my wolf close to the surface. I bent down towards her neck and inhaled her scent. It was a mixture of lillies and strawberries. I gently kissed her neck, causing her to slightly moan. I wanted to mark her right then and there, but I couldn't, not yet, not this way. It was too early. “I'll have someone come to take you to our room. I'll be late, I have a few meetings to attend.” I said, pulling away from her and trying to calm myself down. My hand softly touched hers as I walked away and left the throne room. I've got to get a handle on my urges when I'm around her. Layla's P.O.V I slowly walked over to the throne and sat myself down, as I watched him leave. I sat here impatiently waiting for what seemed like forever, for someone to come get me. I was still getting over the sparks I felt from when he kissed my neck, it was like little sparks of electricity shooting through my body. I'm so bored sitting here alone, I wish I had my phone with me, at least I could play games or something. Goddess, how long do I have to sit here? Suddenly, the door opens and a young woman pops her head in. “Excuse me, my queen, but there is a woman out here claiming to be your mother, can she come in?” The young woman asked, I wonder who she is. She was young and petite, she had brown hair, but bright green eyes that seemed to draw you in. “Uhm….yeah sure she can come in.” I replied, looking up at her. “Ok, my name is Liz, I am the maid. I'm sorry, but she can only stay for a few minutes, as I have to take you to the King's room soon.” Liz said, introducing herself, which I was thankful for, she seemed nice. I just nodded and waited for my mother to come inside. “So what do I call you….my Queen?” My mother said, smirking at me as she entered the room. “Stop it mom, I wouldn't be here if you didn't make me come.” I replied, all this was her fault anyway. “Well you should have thought about that, maybe if you didn't have an attitude.” Mom said, glaring at me, like she was ready to argue. “Well maybe if you treated me with more kindness and love, I wouldn't have an attitude.” I snapped back at her, she just rolled her eyes at me. “Listen, I only came to say goodbye. If you want to see your father and I, then that will be up to the king. I'll call you in a month to see how you are doing, but something tells me he will be rejecting you soon enough, especially with that attitude of yours.” My mom snapped back, her voice dripping with hate. “JUST GO MOTHER!!” I yelled, angry at what she just said. How dare she?! The guards came rushing in, at the sound of my raised voice. “Miss either you leave on your own accord or we will escort you out.” One of the guards said to her as the other stood in front of me, protecting me. She just shook her head and started to walk out, without a single glance back at me. I just sat there sighing and shaking my head. “Are you ready, my Queen?” Liz asked me, I sighed and got up to follow her. As we were walking down the hall, I noticed all the pictures on the walls. “Liz, who are all these people?” I asked her, stopping to get a closer look at them. She stopped, looked around and finally realised what I was talking about when she looked at where I was standing. “Oh these people, they are the King's mother and father and those are the King's sister and brothers. They are all gone now.” Liz said, pointing to the different people in the pictures. “The brothers moved away and formed their own packs. The sister….she passed away. She was going for a run when a rogue attacked and killed her. The King has her ashes on the fireplace in the living room. If you would like to see it, I don't mind taking you there. My Queen.” Liz said, straightening up. “No, that's okay, thank you. I feel as if I would be invading his privacy.” I said, shaking my head. Liz just nodded and carried on walking down the hall. “Your room is on the top floor, would you like to go there now, my Queen?” Liz asked me, tilting her head to look at me. “Yes please, I am a little tired and a little stressed out after all this.” I replied, trying to hold back a yawn. “I understand, my Queen.” Liz said, facing forward. “Please don't call me my Queen, my name is Layla.” I said, smiling. I was getting sick and tired of this title already, it made me feel uncomfortable. “Alright then, Layla it is.” Liz said, smiling at me. We carried on walking down the hall and then up the stairs. We walked up four flights of stairs, before we finally made it to the King's bedroom. Liz opened the door, I just stood there in shock at the sheer size of the room. It was big enough to fit my whole house inside it. “Gees, I guess the King loves it here, these things are huge.” I said, Liz let out a laugh and held her hand out, motioning for me to enter. I nodded, walked in and Liz followed me, I just stood there, taking in my surroundings. There was a massive queen size bed, positioned in between two huge windows, that you could open outwards to look outside. A couch was on the far left of the room and a desk with a computer on it was on the far right. “What's that for?” I asked, pointing over to the desk. “Oh that, when the King is not in his office, he comes up here to do business.” Liz replied, as she walked over to two doors I never even noticed. She opened the one revealing the bathroom, I walked in and immediately my eyes fell on the bathtub in front of us, it was huge and had water jets on the side. A little further down was a toilet, a walk in shower with glass doors and a huge sink. “Goddess, did he plan everything to be this beautiful.” I said, standing there in amazement. We walked back out and Liz opened up the door next to it. “This is the walk-in closet, half of it is yours. We brought some of your things here, but we will need to go shopping for the rest.” Liz said. When did they get the chance to get my stuff? “Rest? What do you mean for the rest?” I asked, confused by what she just said. “Well you can't go without bras, panties, dresses, jewellery, make-up and nice clothes to wear in the Luna meetings.” Liz said, laughing, as if it was an everyday thing. “I don't like make-up or dresses.” I growled lightly, shaking my head. All of this was making my head spin. “I'm sure you will learn to like them.” Liz said, like I was going to have to, whether I wanted to or not. “Are we done? I'm a little tired and when will the King be here? Is he going to be late?” I asked. “Yes, we are done for now. He will be up here shortly, he has a meeting to go to. I'll leave you now so you can get some rest.” Liz replied, laughing at my non-stop questioning. “Thank you Liz.” I said, she nodded and walked to the door, shutting it behind her as she left. I took one last look around, walked over to the couch and flopped down on it. I found the remote to the flat screen TV and turned it on just as The Big Bang Theory came on. I always loved this show, but I must have fallen asleep halfway through it, because when I woke up I wasn't on the couch anymore. I felt something heavy on me and I tried to lift it, but it was awkward. “Go back to sleep, Layla, it's only five in the morning.” The Alpha King mumbled. I looked down and saw that it was his arm that I felt lying across me. I wasn't used to it yet, but somehow I felt safe in his arms. I was still a bit sleepy, so I laid back down. He must have carried me to bed when he came in. “Enough moving around, I'm tired, go back to sleep my mate.” The Alpha King mumbled again, tightening his grip even more, as I snuggled up to him. I mumbled to myself, then drifted back off to sleep.
