Chapter Three. The Shopping Spree

Edited. Layla's P.O.V Daylight came and the curtains were pulled back letting the sunshine light up the room. I pulled the blanket up over my head, not wanting to get out of bed. “What the hell!” I yelled, as the blanket was slowly being pulled down my body. “It's time to get up, Layla. Are you going to stay in bed all day?” The Alpha King asked me. “No King, I'm not. What am I supposed to call you anyway? Am I supposed to call you king for the rest of our lives or should I call you master?” I asked. I could see I was pushing his buttons, good that's what he gets for pulling the blankets off of me. It's freezing here. He just stood there glaring at me, contemplating his answer. “If you want to call me master you can.” The Alpha King said, smirking at me. “HELL NO! I will never call you master, that's just plain nuts. For crying out loud, what is your name?” I asked again, this was getting annoying. I couldn't keep calling him King or was that what I was meant to call him. “It's Logan Black. I'm the King of Kings, the King of all werewolves, the Alpha King.” He replied, sounding ever so cocky with his answer. I just rolled my eyes at him. “Well now you're just showing off, I'm not calling you all that. I'll stick with Logan.” I replied, laughing at him. “Yes, so what would you like to do today? I took the morning off so we could spend time together.” Logan said, just as my stomach growled, loudly. “Well what's for breakfast?” I asked, holding my stomach and trying to hide my embarrassment. “I'm not sure. Let's get dressed and go see.” Logan said, smiling at me. I nodded, got up and walked toward the closet. I took a white top and a pair of jeans out and put them on. “I'm ready whenever you are.” I replied, walking back into the bedroom. I gave him a confused look, as he just stood there laughing at me. “Layla, Are you going to brush your hair?” Logan said, still slightly laughing at me. I turned and looked in the mirror, my hair was a mess, I had bed hair. “Oh yeah, I forgot.” I replied, laughing at my reflection in the mirror. I quickly rushed into the bathroom and started brushing my hair. It always takes me a while to brush it due to how long it is. I never liked having my hair down, so I took a hairband and tied it up in a ponytail. “Alright, now I'm ready.” I said, coming out of the bathroom. He shook his head, smiling at me and opened the bedroom door. We walked out together and down the stairs, to the kitchen. The cook had already finished cooking, there were pancakes, eggs and bacon. We sat down at the table and breakfast was brought over to us by Liz and Meg. We all sat there eating, until we were all full and then Logan stood up to leave. “Liz here is going to take you shopping for the queen ceremony. You need to be prepared for it in a week. I have to go, I've got some work to do.” Logan said, leaning down to kiss my forehead. “I thought you took the morning off?” I asked, confused by his sudden statement. “Well I do have stuff to do to make sure everything is safe and secure before next week, you will be fine with Liz. Here take my card, buy whatever you want.” Logan replied, reaching into his wallet to get his card out. “Oh and buy yourself a new phone, I know you lost yours at the ball. So you need a new one.” Logan continued talking, as he handed me his card. I just nodded and smiled, I did lose my phone and did need a new one. Without saying another word, he left to go to his office. “Does he always do this?” I asked, looking towards the door he just left through. “Yes, at times he doesn't eat until late at night, in his office. I don't know what he does there, but he tends to stay there all night at times.” Liz replied, I just nodded and looked back at them. “Well, are you ready? I want to get this over and done with.” I sighed, I hate shopping and I hate dresses, so putting the two together is going to be pure torture. “Shopping isn't that bad.” Liz giggled. I just rolled my eyes. “I just never liked it, but come on we might as well go since he gave me his card and I do need a new phone, maybe a laptop and a tablet to go with it as well.” I laughed, he did owe me, it was his fault that I lost my old phone. “Well, what are we waiting for then, let's go.” Liz said, all excited. We walked out the kitchen and headed outside to the driveway. There were two black SUV's outside, the one at the front had a man standing outside, holding the door open. I wonder who the other one's for. “This is our driver Jordan. He takes us anywhere we want to go.” Liz said. He was smiling pleasantly at us, as we walked over to him. He was very tall and muscular, with short brown hair and green eyes. “Hi Jordan, how are you?” I said, as we got in the back of the SUV. He bowed his head and smiled again, shutting the door behind us and getting into the driver's seat. “Where to, ladies?” Jordan asked. I didn't have a clue, I've never been anywhere except the market back home. “Let's head to the mall there's plenty of shops and you can find what you might like there, plus we need to find you a dress before next week.” Liz said, as if reading my mind. “I don't like dresses.” I sighed. “Come on Lay, you might learn to love them.” Liz said, laughing at me while I sat there shaking my head. “I won't ever, but if you insist, then we can get a dress.” I replied, sighing in defeat. One dress that's it and I'm only going to wear it for the ceremony. Liz just nodded and we carried on chatting, as we travelled to the mall. After forty minutes of travelling we finally pulled up to the mall and so did the other SUV. The ones in the SUV behind us got out and made their way to our car, I couldn't help but feel nervous. “What's going on? Who are all these men? What are they doing here?” I asked, turning to Liz. I think she could sense my nervousness, as she held my hand and squeezed it reassuringly. “It's ok, they are the guards. They are here to protect you. It was the King's orders that we get escorted, so nothing happens to you.” Liz quickly replied, instantly making me feel better. At least now I understand and can stop worrying. We got out of the car and they all bowed their heads to me, all this bowing was making me feel a little uncomfortable. We all walked into the mall and I couldn't believe my eyes. There were so many people, chatting, walking around and carrying bags, some were going into shops, just to look around. “Ok Liz, you're a pro at this, where should….hold on I need a new phone, lets go to the phone place first.” I said, looking around, trying to get my bearings. Liz just nodded, she knew I was stalling to go look at dresses. She held her hand out and asked me to follow her, as she walked straight to the phone shop. We walked in and I looked around, I saw an iPhone Ten, an android tablet and a laptop with unlimited data and lots of gigs of memory. Liz took them from me and carried them over to the cashier. “That will be $2,345, plus the fee to turn the phone on is an extra $50.” The cashier said, as she finished ringing everything up. I couldn't believe it, my eyes were bulging at the price. Liz just looked at me and nodded, as if to say it's ok. “Will that be a credit or debit card?” The cashier asked. I looked down at my purse and removed Logan's card, handing it to the cashier. “Credit card please.” I replied, still shocked at the price. The cashier took the card and slid it through, after a few seconds the receipt came out. “Please sign here and here is your copy.” The cashier said, as I signed the receipt. “Thank you so much.” I said, smiling at her. We walked out the store and Jordan immediately walked up to us taking the bags from our hands. “I'll take the bags and put them in the SUV.” Jordan said, I nodded and took my new phone out, I found the piece of paper with Logan's number on it, added it to my phone's contacts and called him. The phone rang a few times before he finally picked up. “Hello. Who's this?” Logan answered. “It's Layla, I wanted to call you so you would have my new number.” I replied. “Very well, thank you for calling me, so I can have it. Have fun shopping.” Logan replied. “Alright bye, see you when we get back home.” I said, tapped my phone to end the call and put it in my pocket. “Alright Liz. I promised I would get a dress, so I'm all yours, take me to where you want to go. I also need to get some jeans, shorts and some shirts. I'm also guessing that you want me to have matching shoes, bags and jewellery to go with the dress. Am I right?” I asked, sighing to myself. “How did you guess?” Liz replied, laughing. “Am I right?” I asked again, I knew I was, but I wanted her to confirm it. “Yes you are right, now come on time’s a wastin.” Liz said, as she grabbed my hand and started dragging me into one of the dress shops. “Come on, it's not that bad.” Liz said. She picked a few dresses out, handed them to me and I made my way to the fitting room. “Alright here goes nothing.” I said out loud to myself. I took off my jeans and t-shirt and tried the first one on, it was white with thin straps and it covered my knees. I looked at myself in the mirror, turning from side to side, I even put my hair up to see how it made me look. “Eh It's not so bad, it's nice actually, I quite like it.” I said out loud to myself. I took it off and tried on the next one, it was a light blue dress and really showed off my curves. The last one I tried on was the one I was going to wear next week for the ceremony, the trim on the back was long and it covered my knees, it was plunging down the middle and showed a little of my back. It was beautiful. I carefully took the dress off and hung it back on the hanger, altogether I came out with six dresses, six pairs of heels to go with matching purses, jewellery and make-up. “Ok, I want to go get some jeans, bras, panties and shirts.” I said, glad that the dress shopping was over and I could finally get some normal clothes. Jordan yet again came and took our bags back to the SUV, he returned after a short time and waited for us, as we went into another shop. The guards always stood at the entrance of the shop we were in, they only moved once we came out, then they surrounded us, making sure we were protected. I bought a pair of faded jeans that had rips in them, a pair of skinny jeans, a few shirts, four pairs of shoes, two pairs of sandals and a couple of jump suits. After we paid and left the store my stomach started rumbling again. “I'm hungry, wanna eat?” I asked Liz. “I sure do, what about you Jordan?” Liz asked and Jordan nodded, he didn't seem to say much. “Well let's go get some burgers.” I said. After we got our food and ate it, we all went back to the cars and headed home. When we finally arrived Logan was standing on the doorstep, waiting for us. I hope he's not mad at how much I spent, he did say to get anything I wanted. “I hope you had fun, seeing all the bags, I'm guessing you did.” Logan said, smiling at me. “Well you told me to go shopping and get what I wanted, if you want I can get a job to pay for all the stuff I bought.” I replied, feeling guilty. “I don't have a problem with that.” Logan growled and went to the SUV to help Jordan get the bags out and went back inside. I just shook my head, I had fun today and then I came back and he acted like this. I don't mind paying for it, that's not a problem. I took a deep breath and went inside, straight up to his bedroom. I knew he would be waiting for me there, I walked in and he was standing there with his arms crossed over his chest. “Listen, you are not my father, don't ever speak to me like you are. I don't know what your problem is, but take it out on whoever pissed you off because I damn sure didn't. Leave your work at work.” I yelled at him, I could feel my anger rising. He just stood there with his mouth dropped open. Logan's P.O.V I couldn't help but be amused by her reaction, I had definitely picked the right one, I was sure of it. I uncrossed my arms and started walking towards her, with every step I took forward she took one back, until her back was pressed against the wall and she had nowhere else to go. She must have thought I was pissed off because she wouldnt look at me, instead she looked down at the floor. I lifted her chin with my hand and kissed her softly, I pulled away and leaned my head into the nape of her neck, inhaling her scent. I could hear her heart going ten to the dozen in her chest. I could feel her legs going weak from our kiss, I'm pretty sure if I wasn't holding her she would fall down. “Calm your heart, I'm not going to bite just yet.” I said, putting a strand of hair behind her ear. “Did you have fun shopping? Did you find a dress for next week?” I asked, smiling. she nodded and smiled back at me. I ran my hand down her arm and could see goosebumps instantly appear. She raised her hand hesitantly, like she didn't know if she should touch me or not, but then she softly caressed my face and I couldn't help but lean into her hand. “You know I'm not a bad person, but I have to be tough, I have to be strict. If I'm not, then they will think they can overthrow me and take my throne and that isn't going to happen.” I said, trying to make her understand. She just nodded and smiled up at me, I love her smile. “Are you tired from your shopping day?” I asked her. “A little, but I'm alright.” She replied. “Want to show me what you brought? Forgive me. I've never had a mate before, this is all new to me, so bear with me. Don't get me wrong, I've had women but never a mate.” I said, slightly babbling. She had this effect on me, she slowly nodded and I thought I saw a hint of jealousy cross her eyes “I've never been with anyone.” She said, with slightly gritted teeth, now it was my turn to nod, she was pure and I wasn't. “When you are ready to mate, we will. I will not force you.” I said, trying to reassure her that we would take it at her pace and not mine. “Thank you.” She replied, smiling again. She walked away from me, to go get her bags. She showed me everything that she had brought, even down to the last shoe. By the time she was done it was pretty late and she was yawning, while putting everything away. “Are you ready for bed, Layla. How about this we get in bed, turn the tv on and have a date night, watching TV until we fall asleep.” I suggested, hoping she would say yes. “That sounds like a great idea.” She said, like she suddenly got her second wind. She walked to the bathroom to put on her pyjama shorts and t-shirt. When she walked out, I was only in my boxers. She just stood there staring at me, her eyes huge, as they looked up and down my body, from my chest and abs down to my crotch. “Layla….Layla….Layla.” I called her, but she was in a daze. “What? What was that?” She said, snapping back to reality, blushing at the realisation that I had caught her checking me out. She looks so cute when she blushes, I can't believe she is mine. “That was our bond forming, we are connecting now, Layla. That's why you feel the pull towards me, that's why you feel drawn to me.” I said, chuckling. I knew this for a fact because I was feeling the same. She just nodded again and climbed into bed. I got the remote and climbed in after her, turning on the TV. “So what do you want to watch?” She asked, looking at the TV. “Let's just watch whatever's on Netflix.” I said, smiling. I was enjoying my night with her, we were finally relaxing around each other and it was pure bliss to me.
