What happens when you pick up a signal you were never meant to hear?

Elias Vance is an audio technician obsessed with decoding lost radio frequencies in his small, quiet town. Late one evening, while tuning into an abandoned emergency channel, his headphones capture something terrifying: a distorted voice confessing to a high-profile crime, followed by static-laced threats detailing a murder that hasn't even happened yet.

Driven by a desperate need for justice, Elias begins tracking the mysterious radio operator through the city's murky underbelly. But every frequency he uncovers pulls him deeper into a web of deceit, strategy, and deadly secrets. The lines between the hunter and the hunted blur as he realizes the voice on the airwaves isn't just broadcasting to anyone—it is speaking directly to him.

Some secrets are meant to stay buried in the noise. Because in a town built on lies, decoding the truth might just get you killed.

Chapter 1: The Midnight Frequency
The hum of the static was usually enough to put Elias Vance to sleep. His cramped basement workshop, buried beneath the noisy streets of Oakhaven, was cluttered with torn-apart radio sets, signal amplifiers, and tangled spools of copper wire. To anyone else, the constant white noise pouring through his vintage audio gear was mindless, irritating noise. But to Elias, every hiss and crackle had a pattern. Every frequency told a story. It was 11:47 PM when the static shifted. Elias leaned back in his worn leather chair, adjusting the dials of his custom-built receiver, trying to lock onto a weak weather band. Suddenly, the soothing background murmur cut out, replaced by a harsh, grating screech. He winced, pulling his heavy studio headphones half off his ears. "What the..." He adjusted the gain slider to smooth out the interference, expecting to hear nothing more than a lost commercial pilot or a rogue HAM radio operator. Instead, a voice cut through the airwaves—cold, synthesized, and eerily calm. "...frequency confirmed. Target visual acquired. Operation proceeds at midnight." Elias froze. His fingers hovered over the frequency tuner. He reached forward and tapped the digital display. 108.9 MHz. That was an abandoned emergency channel, quiet for nearly fifteen years. Nobody broadcast on 108.9. He tapped a key on his mixing board to begin recording the raw audio feed. "Does the subject suspect anything?" a second voice chimed in. This one was organic, raspy, and laced with an unsettling level of detachment. "Negative," the first voice responded through a heavy layer of digital distortion. "He thinks he’s just listening to the dark. He doesn't know the transmission is a two-way street." A cold wave of dread washed over Elias's spine. He adjusted the equalizer, trying to isolate the background noise behind the voices. Beneath the muffled vocal tracks, he heard a steady, rhythmic sound. Tick. Tick. Tick. It was a pendulum clock. A grandfather clock with a distinct, heavy chime—the exact same chime that echoed from his neighbor’s porch across the alley every night. Elias’s heart slammed against his ribs. He slowly pulled the headphones down around his neck, looking around his dimly lit room. The silence of his basement felt heavier now, suffocating. He leaned close to the microphone on his desk, his voice barely a breath. "Who is this?" The speaker on his console crackled. The static surged, loud and violent for a brief second, before snapping into crystal-clear audio. "You shouldn't have decoded that frequency, Elias."
