I look over my shoulder and see Golen Wylde's son marching toward us, a cross look on his face.
However, when our eyes meet, his step falters. The furious look morphs into something softer. "Alpha Cadeon. I'm sorry, I didn't see you there."
I make the connection quickly. She slammed into me and he appeared from out of nowhere, right at her heels.
"What's going on here?" I ask, whirling around. I realize her hand is still in mine and drop it as if it were a piece of coal, feeling somewhat embarrassed. I focus all my attention on him.
"I..." he begins uneasily, hurling a dirty look over my shoulder, presumably at her. "The Omega shouldn't have left the academy. I was going to take the back before she tried to outrun me."
