The Villainess Needs A Hero

Chapter 12: This Is The Last Time To Save A Town

"Master everything is already set" - Alarick said which made me open my eyes. I've been taking a nap for a while now and I asked Alarick to wake me up when everything is already done. What did I ask them to do? Well I simply ask them to deliver all the flowers in front of every household addressed to all of the towns people.

Did I put a lot of effort? No not really because I am really grateful for what they have done to me. If they did not took care of me when I am on the verge of death maybe I am already dead or if not dead maybe I wasn't really able to save money to survive on my own. 

"Then let's go. We have to finish those pests immediately." - I said and I stood up from my seat. Aesir and Alarick changed back to their original form and they positioned themselves beside me. And the two let out a howl and as if on cue glittering things surrounded my and their body and as a  magic circle appeared beneath us our bodies are slowly fading.

And before I knew it, we are already in a different place, specifically we are now being surrounded by a lot of trees, bushes and I can even hear animal sounds. And obviously we are inside a forest. I am not shocked that our destination is the forest since those pests really do lurks around this place. Monsters prefer places that are so dark during the night because in the darkness they are able to manifest their true power and nature, they are not afraid of sunlight but they are weaker under the sun. Also, the forest is a great way for them to hide their presence, they are often hiding inside trees or in the shadows of the things or animals around here.

However monsters around the forest are lesser compared to what can be seen inside the dungeons. Dungeons are more like caves full of monsters, well, technically it was a cave before but the past emperors decided to seal it up and make it a place where soldiers and magicians can train or harness their abilities.

In the past fifty years, the emperor decided that the dungeon is open for any adventurer or mercenary, they could slay monsters based on the mission they got from a guild and they are going to be paid accordingly to what type of mission they choose.

There are five kinds or types of missions, the R rank or the beginner's mission, the C rank for the somewhat already experienced, the B rank for the quite experienced or intermediate, the A rank for the professionals and lastly the S rank are the missions for adventurers or mercenaries that has already a lot of experiences or they are just so powerful.

Mission are not also only limited inside the dungeon, these adventurers or mercenaries can kill monsters outside the dungeon such as for example they could choose to kill a horde of monsters going to attack a village, they could also purify lands etc. In other words, missions vary from one another. 

However, based from the books that I have read at the mansion before, it is a fact that only a few adventurers or mercenaries choose to go inside the dungeon because of how hard it is to survive inside for the last twenty years.

Scholars who tried to researched what has happened said that the monsters inside the dungeon underwent evolution just like how humans cultivate their strength and anther reason that one scholar presented is that it may be because they already got their source, or a person that leads them. 

But the emperor rejected that scholars idea and just 8 years later he confirmed that fact. What an annoying bastard right? tsk Not to mention that he did not even gave honor to that scholar and he did not even admit his mistake.

But anyway, all leaders are like him so what do I actually expect?

"I can't believe that we are going to kill monsters for the first time" - Alarick said and based from his tone he is quite excited and it is because I actually never let them run around and kill monsters whenever they like. Well, I am just being careful because the original female lead might appear anytime and she will be able to see Aesir and Alarick. Not that I am afraid that our contract will be invalidated because technically I am not really supposed to be their master but I decided to look for them and make them my familiars to steal that from the original female lead.

I don't know if that makes me a embody the character of being a villainess, but so what if I am. That's actually my plan from the start. To be a villainess because I want to annoy the hell out of my family, I want them to taste the pain of being neglected by their own flesh and blood.

And I know what I did six years ago affected my stupid father so much, of course who wouldn't be affected in seeing his own daughter and the splitting image of his wife fall from such height, full of wounds and is on the verge of dying but he cannot do anything to prevent it.

Well he could have actually prevented it, if and only if I still don't have Alarick or Aesir as my familiar during that time. 

"Master, if we are planning to finish off those pests you have to be careful" - Aesir suddenly said which made me look at her and just then I realized that they are neither in their human or wolf form. They are in their spirit like forms where I am the only one who could see them, the same form they had when I escaped the Bicester mansion.

"Someone is following the horde?" - I asked because just when she said it I suddenly felt a different presence far away from our position, however since whoever that person is following the horde, he or she was able to conceal his or her presence and magical abilities. It is a must because the horde could immediately attack him or her when detected. 

But the weird thing is, why is that person following the horde? If he or she is planning to finish of the monsters shouldn't he have done it already while his presence is concealed? Or he or she has been sent by the emperor to kill the horde of monsters but before that he must make sure whether or not the town is indeed safe from monster attacks by intentionally letting the horde arrive there?

Fuck.

If that's the case then I am really getting pissed off right now with that f****d up emperor. It makes me want to kill him right here right now. No one would ever know that it is me anyway so there is no problem.

"You cannot kill the emperor, master. Not until we found out who is really behind the sudden massive emergence of monsters and also how strong they have become." - Alarick said which made me roll my eyes heaven wards. 

"Coming from you Alarick. I was expecting that you would agree with my thought of killing that bastard" - I said and automatically I heard Aesir laugh and Alarick on the other hand let out a scoff which made me grin.

"I am just doing my job as a guardian because I cannot let another tragedy happen" - he seriously said which made my grin disappear and my expression became serious. I know that he is serious because he brought up his title of being a guardian. Yes, he is lazy but I cannot deny the fact that he is also powerful and not to mention he is way more superior than Aesir.

Also, since he is a black noble wolf and he actually wields the darkness, this is his responsibility. I mean his job before he became my familiar is to technically make sure that the darkness will not consume the bright side of the world.

Just like what we call on my past life the yin and yang. There are two reasons why the two actually agreed to become my familiars. First is because of the light and dark magical abilities in my body and second because they need to restore the balance that has been broken by unknown reasons.

Well I am going to make sure that their goals will happen anyway and I cannot fulfill that if I am such a nice woman. 

"Don't worry this will never happen again because after this our real work will start" - I reassured them. I raise my right hand and I slowly closed my eyes. 

"Enchant" - I whispered and I felt something warm surrounding my whole body yet also my hands are cold. 

"They're coming" - I heard Aesir said and as if on cue my mouth immediately opened as I let out my enchantment. 

"Tyflónontas fos, ákou tin entolí mou kai káne to skotádi na chásei ti zoí tous, ta kefália tous afairéthikan apó to sóma tous kai na metatrépsoun to édafos se potámi tou aímatos tous." - after I finish my enchantment I immediately opened my eyes and my mouth opened again. "Go" - when I said those final words, from the dark sky rays of light came down and from my position it swiftly moved towards the direction where the monsters are."Damn the empire is going to be surely alerted with that" - Alarick said which made me shrug my shoulders. I don't care. As if they are going to find me anyway.

"Erase traces of our magic" - I said and immediately the two let out their own enchantments to erase what should be erased to prevent those magic tower magicians from finding me. Tsk. This is really the last time I am going to save a village. From now on I am not going to interfere anymore, unless it is going to be in line with my future profession and that is being an adventurer.
