Delancey stepped back till her back hit the wall completely, without looking away her hands stumbled as she felt the wall behind her.
Breaking eye contact with him felt like death. She was staring into the eyes of death itself.
With his voice calm, his eyes unwavering as he continued, "Now let's say, you saw me ITCHING at my neck because you said no-." His voice cracked as he spoke the word no, "Now I-I hate to say this, b-but I have a bit of a problem. Whenever I get angry, I tend to kind-of scratch my neck until it kind of bleeds a little bit." His tone had lightened up intensely, he stammered at some of his words. "B-but, but that that's not bad it's just, it's just... "
Delancey watched as it seemed his mind was starting to spin. His ramblings were starting to sound irrational, like the mumblings of a crazy person. Delancey quickly eyeballed the elevator buttons to see how close they were to the parking garage, it was halfway...
"It's just a tick." His voice sounded desperate. Suddenly his tone darkened again. Delancey couldn't help but look in his eyes. He seemed extremely unstable as a person. Somebody deranged in nature. "Now, I don't want to make you uncomfortable or anything... But it's going to happen. Whether you want to or not. You understand me?"
"W-what... "
He exhaled, "You may speak now."
"I-I understand." Her voice wavered, she didn't understand anything, she only knew this was bad.
"Say it again." His voice was dark and stern. His eyes still haven't lingered off Delancey, not even for a moment.
"I understand... "
"Say... it... again" His tone got lower, more aggressive. He leaned in closer.
"I-I understand... "
"Now, don't say another word. I'm going to ask you this one more time. Say. It. Again." She could feel his breath against her skin. He was definitely human.
"I-I, u-understand!" before she could realize, tears had already begun to flood her face. Her words sounded watery. Her heart pang out, could this be God punishing me? she thought to herself as the tears continued to flow. This door she had created in her mind where there were riches just behind waiting for her... had turned into a red door which she had opened without even realizing it. A red door which stood in the darkness of somewhere she couldn't even figure out. A red door which led her further into the darkness she hadn't asked for.
"Good... " His words echoed in her mind. "I'll come back for you later... " He whispered in her ear slowly.
"DING!"
The elevator chirped as they both reached the bottom floor which was the parking garage. Malrick stepped out and walked out to his car. Delancey slowly slid to the floor of the elevator, her eyes lingered on his figure in the distance. "I'll come back for you later... " Those words echoed in her mind. She didn't know what it meant, but it was enough. She was in danger now. Was this the same Malrick who spoke openly and poured his heart out to Seren... Why was she getting this version of him. Who was this man. What was this man? What made Seren so special that she hadn't seen this side of him.
Malrick... was a wolf in sheep's clothing. Beneath the suit, he was a monster in disguise...
