~NOEL'S POV~
"NOEL~! Get your ass up~!" My eyes cracked open and I smirked as I was met with the nice, comfortable darkness of my room. My stepmother's shrill voice came again as I took my sweet time getting up. "NOEL!" I growled loudly, shaking the door to my room. "Don't you growl at your mother!" My eyes narrowed and I stood up and whipped the door open, almost ripping it off the hinges. The second she saw me in the doorway she realized her mistake "Mother? My. Mother? As far as I'm concerned MY mother is scattered under the great pine tree in the middle of my FATHER'S territory." She backed up and shrank down slightly.
"MY mother wasn't a low-ranked SHEWOLF. My mother was a born Luna, unlike this puny thing standing before me." I could see the resentment bubbling in her eyes but she dared not to speak up, knowing my patients was already thin. "Smart woman." I patted her on the head and sauntered back into my room, my wolf giving me a mental highfive and some praise for my feat. "Get dressed. Nicely! You little demon!" She yelled before stomping back downstairs.
I rolled my eyes and looked at myself in the mirror "Ugh, I never wanted this stupid marriage. Yet here I am." I growled and looked around my room, gazing at all my odd items. Even though I'm the Alpha's daughter I'm not prim, nor proper. Instead I spend most of my time looking around the forest at night for skulls and bones. I also have some preserved animals and bird wings that I found, some more fortunate looking than the others. I looked back at my dresser and started rummaging through it, pulling out a collared, white, dress shirt and some black winter leggings. I put them on and pulled my hair up into a short ponytail since my black locks just barely hit my chin.
With my hair up you could clearly see my shaved sides and many ear piercings. I looked at myself in the mirror after pulling on my black flats and sighed. "I guess I'm presentable?" I grabbed my collar and dogtag off my dresser and put it on, tucking it into my shirt before I walked out of my room. I locked the door and stuffed both the keys and my hands into my pockets. My wolf instantly started to stir when I was met with new scents, making the hair in the back of my neck stand up. "Don't you say it." I growled at my wolf who whimpered back at me.
I fully excepted my feral side, so my wolf and I were fairly tuned into one another, more so than most werewolves. So when she knew something, I knew it too, maybe not as soon but I still got it. I walked downstairs and into the conference room where I was met with the cheerful greeting of my father. " Ah! There she is! My beautiful daughter!" His arm wrapped around my shoulder as he guided me over to the group that was sat at the large table in the middle of the room.
I took a seat on one side of my father while my stepmother took the other. I looked at the three people that sat across the table from us, one was a female while the others were male. The woman radiated with an almost royal energy, I could easilly tell she was a strong Luna. The smaller me however, who was definantly the oldest of the three, was feeble in comparison. Obviously not born an Alpha he was smaller in stature than his son, who might I add, was very easy on the eyes. I kept composed as my wolf whimpered needingly, I shut her up though.
"Thank you all for coming! It's a pleasure to be holding his meeting with you, Mr. and Mrs. Fae!" My father's cheerful attitude made me smile slightly, he's always like this, it lightens the tension that my utter hatred for my stepmother brings which is nice. "As it is to be here with you Mr. and Mrs. Quinn!" The small man chimed in as he sat up proudly.
"My son here has had no luck with finding his mate and a good Alpha needs an even better Luna behind him." Mr. Fae put his hand on his wife's shoulder, who in turn smiled proudly. "Well, Noel has had little interest in a mate, but she is a very strong and independent woman now! I believe she will make a wonderful Luna of the Fae pack!" My father patted my shoulder and I sat tall, and with a stern look plastered on my face.
The son of the Fae's eyes shot to me when he hear my father say I had little interest in finding my mate. When i let my eyes flicker to his I could see the anger in his eyes, not what I expected, but there was a small bit of sadness within them as well. I didn't let my expression falter, I won't let my father and my pack down, especially for a man.
~~~~~~~~
As the meeting wound down we decided to take a break and wake our legs up. Not only were the agreements taking too long but my father's naturally chatty attitude drew unnecessary conversations. The second I walked out of the conferance room I was pulled into a seperate room, my skin started to burn where the person touched and I instantly knew who it was. He whipped me around and pushed me onto the desk, putting his arms on either side of some so I couldn't move. I stared at him slightly shocked by his sudden approach, my eyes widening a bit. "Hello there Lark." I cooked with a small smirk on my lips. "How may I help you?" I could feel his chest rumble as he let out wow growl.
"You don't care about finding your mate huh?" I chuckled and leaned back on my own arms "Well I'm getting married to him anyways, so why does it matter if I do or not?" I watched as his eyes turned black, his wolf coming to the surface. "Mate!" He growled and grabbed my chin, lifting it so I was looking him dead in the eyes "If you're trying to draw my wolf out, it'll take more than that." I laughed to myself in my head, this is interesting, I might keep this whole, not caring about my mate thing going for a bit. See if he can draw out something that's barely there. His eyes softened slightly as he looked my over "Let me talk to my mate." He growled and I signed, my eyes turned black and his ears pricked up, not expecting me to let my wolf rise so obediantly.
His arms wrapped round me and my wolf purred and his signed, relaxing before pulling back and looking towards her lips. I forced myself back out and put my hand up between us "Don't get any ideas." I said sliding back across the desk and turning to look out the window, my feet on the chair. I heard him growl again and this time his hand went to my hair and pulled my head back hard. I groaned soft and looked back at him "Excuse me, but that's my hair, not a joystick." His eyes met mine and growled loudly before letting go and storming out.
"Yeash, for such an attractive man he sure has a short temper. That'll be troublesome if he's the Alpha I will command beside." I shook my head and stared out the window at the great pine tree. The snow was falling gently and I smiled, leaning my chin on my hand. "Well ma, looks like your little skelebabe is gettin married. Who'd a thunk it right? And get this, he's actually my mate." I stared at the tree for a while, waiting for a response and chuckled. "I know, I know, I won't give him TOO much trouble. But if I didn't give him any at all then it just wouldn't be me." I touched my hand to the glass and then my forehead. "Don't worry mom. I'll come visit you as much as possible." I looked at the tree once more before jumping off the desk.
I turned and walked out of the room that I was pulled into and back into the conferance room where my stepmother scolded me for being late. I growled and she shrunk back, making me smirk. "Now that you're here Noel, would you please sign here?" My father motioned to a piece of paper on the desk. I quickly read it over and it was basically a marriage contract saying that we would be married once the paper was signed and sealed. I looked up at Lark, his eyes almost hallow and looking at the paper, not me. I chuckled softly and signed my name next to Lark's.
After I signed the paper we all stood up from the table and parted ways. I went with Mr. and Mrs. Fae while Lark went with my family. We decided that it would be good for us to get to know each other's family more.
"So, Mrs. Fae-" I was instantly cut off by her and she gave a slight smile "Please, call me Antoinette." I smiled appreciatively and nodded "Well, I just wanna let you know beforehand. I'm not the most, conventional person." Mrs. Fae waved her hand and chuckled "Ah, no worries my dear! Neither was I at your age!" I smiled and looked down at my hands and sighed contentedly. "Since my husband is out tending to our car why don't we just have a chat before we head to your new home?" I nodded and smiled.
~~~~~~~~
Finally once Mr. Fae, who's name I learned is Christopher was done with the car, we all walked out of the Alpha house. I looked at the stretched limo curiously, this family sure is ritch huh? "Wow, you guys are loaded." That comment earned a smack n the back from my stepmother which caused both me, Lark, and Mrs. Fae to growl at her. She jumped and hihid behind my father who just laughed loudly. "Call us at least once a week Noel, and don't forget to come visit your mother." I smiled but that faded when Mrs. Quinn chimed in snobbishly "I don't want that brat to visit me." I growled loudly and my eyes turned black before I grabbed her by the collar and smirked.
"Good." I leaned in close to her ear. "Cause he wasn't talking about you, Mrs. Quinn." I growled lowly and threateningly "You aren't and never will be my mother. So don't try to pride yourself with the title." I threw her back and she yelled before she was caught by my father. She started yelling at him for letting me do that to her but he just shrugged. "You know you're not her mother." Her eyes grew wide but she quickly turned and glared at me. All of a sudden laughter erupted from behind me. I turned to see Mrs. Fae doubled over laughing and pointing at Mrs. Quinn. " What a fickle woman! How pitiful." She stood upright, towering over my mother as she put a hand on her shoulder.
"With all due respect, Noel is a very special wolf. You are not capable of being a maternal figure for a woman like her. So I suggest you stand down Mrs. Quinn, or you'll end up in a morgue." My eyes grew wide and a wild smile plastered itself on my face. Mrs. Quinn growled and stormed inside the house, yelling obscenities. Mrs. Fae turned to me with a bright smile on her face and motioned me to the limo "Come dear." I nodded and sauntered towards the limo quite happily. Lark stopped me before I could reach the handle. He opened the door for me and helped me in "Thanks Bird!" He growled softly but a smile crept to his face. He sat next to me and leaned into my ear "No problem Skelebabe." My eyes grew wide as the car started and so did my heart.
I stayed frozen in shock as we drove to what was to be my knew home with an utterly amazing mother-in-law, a quiet and shy father-in-law and a husband who knew too much for my liking.
