Chapter 5We talked for a couple of hours that Saturday night, and then I went back to my condo, virtuously (if discontentedly) alone. Debated the clanking winery cartons in my car’s trunk and decided to leave them there, since it wasn’t nearly cold enough to worry. Donnie dropped by in the morning and we went out for brunch, an amble through California Big Trees State Park, an ice cream cone in a shopping center on the way back to Angels Camp, and another long talk. That one was at my condo. At a certain point I ordered pizza and went to retrieve a bottle from the trunk.
