Jonathan Phillips and I met during the summer of 2019 in the BC times: Before COVID. And we met the way a lot of gay male couples meet these days: through a dating app. We hooked up initially for s*x, but ended up in a full-blown relationship. And things were great for a while. We were both in our early thirties, living in Chicago, and working boring office jobs on opposite sides of the Loop. He worked as a financial analyst for a health care company and I worked in marketing for a local non-profit organization.
