The sun wasn’t even up yet when Reid headed down the stairs, determined to do whatever it might take to get off that mountain in time to make it to his wedding. It was almost 6:00 AM, which meant he had about twelve hours to figure it all out, including time to actually make the trip, which would normally take two hours but could take many more under the circumstances. He’d checked the news and the weather the night before and once again this morning. Even though the highway was open now, dozens of cars still blocked the pass, their residents having been taken to a shelter over night to keep them out of the cold.
