Dust hung in the air as I stopped in front of a big house. It was modest in comparison to Liam and Olivia’s house. I took a deep breath, steeling my nerves. Ansel had given me a list of people in the pack who were related to Liam and Olivia. Admittedly, it was a small list. But I’d make my way through it, checking for evidence for the kids. This was my first stop. Liam’s cousin had moved with him when he moved to our pack. Ansel thought this might be the top choice is Liam was leaving his kids with someone. I swung the car door open and leaped out, checking my knife was still in the pocket. Laughter and shrill screams came from inside. My heart raced, filled with hope, and I walked faster up their porch steps. Ansel said they have kids. Don’t get too excited, don’t show your emotions.
