In the sloms of were a woman in stage and her children tirved out. the children are inside thier mother's provision store by the side of the road general high way. Mrs Johnson is in her poor -looking shop where she sells biscuits, sweet and beverages, as she Talked to Sharon, Janet and Job, her children. sharon is a fifteen -year-old girl, Janet her younger sister, is in SS1 and is fourteen years old; the last born of the family is called Job, a boy he is in JSS3 ***** "Sharon please help Us with a summary of all tha thas been said by News caster." Her mom said as the news by john momoah the news caster concluded, Sharon's mind was else were she was not listening to what her mother saying she has her head buried in a book she's reads instead of listen to her mother who was sweating tired by her hectic wosaid smiling and lifting her brows upward. Mrs Johnson, angrily raises Sharon's head up from the book she was reading in order to get her attention. "aren't you the one i am referring to and to dose of you," she hesitates would you like to share with us? Because I don't no How you can just bury your head in that book instead of listening for my sake. " Sharon groans unhappy that her mother had broken her concentration. "Oh mummy... I hard you Ooo! But this novel is so interesting mom I just can't help Myself, I can't stop myself from reading it. it also has alot of words I haven't known. Look mummy!" She lifted and showed a text she had written in ink to her mother where she had scribed down some unfamiliar words. "I have written down some ambiguous and conflicting words that I don't understand in the....." She said smiled and raced her brows gentlygj Janet and Job interrupt with chorus of mocking laughter together, Janet said (shouting) "Big grammar is going to break mummy's shop! down ooo (scatter )" Job begins to laugh. Sharon then turns away from her siblings ashamed that thay are making fun of her then, mrs Johnson come to sharon defense, "both of you should shut up! all you know is to make fun of your elder sister because she speak better English than you both. you are both dull students. you don't know any thing. " ********* Janet is still trying to control her laughter "Hmm... mummy, you had better warn her to refrain from speaking such big words in your shop. If she doesn't stop, I can assure you that one day ;this shop of yours will surely catch fire or simply blow up!" Then Job begins to shake with lauhter all over again. Mrs Johnson shakes her head at her other two children "Leave Sharon alone. Let her speak all the big big vocabularies she wants. that's why I'm suffering to send her to school. Even though your father doesn't help me, I am not going to stop doing my best I only hope that the two of you would work hard at your studies like Sharon, instead of being lazy all over the place.if not that she was absent from school the last time her classmate wrote the test due to nonpayment of her school fees, she would have the best result her class last term. but the two of you are always performing below average in your academic. " Sharon interrupt "who else would steal if not him? He is the one who never satisfied with what he has or what he is given. he is always talking about expensive (costly )clothes and trainers that other boys wear that he doesn't have. He is the one who has bad boys as friends.... " And mrs Johnson quickly stand up to attend to a customer, before facing her children again. "Did You say job has bad friends? " Yes mum! those boys are bad. I have seen them smoking and drinking 'paraga'beverage, an alcholic drink, with some taxi men. those are the kind of boys that your son moves with. He is so eager to make his own money that he even follow the boys to bet. yes, he bets with them... So, why won't he steal from the shop? Sharon said. Job furiously defend himself , "mummy, warn Sharon to stop accusing me wrongly. I have never stolen anything in this shop. I don't have any bad boy or any taxi man as a friend. if you happen to see me with any of them, maybe I want to take a drive to a particular place. One can talk to taxi driver . they are humans like the rest of us. that doesn't mean that I have take alcoholic beverages with boys. I don't have any bad friends. then Sharon scuffs at Job "who says you don't have bad boys as friends? what about criminal boy that lives at the end of the street? Didn't I see you coming out of his room yesterday after school, instead of reading your book? " . Job jump up in protest, "Ah! mummy, that is a lie! don't listen to her, Mummy. she is lying against me. I don't have any bad boy as my friend." Then Sharon shake her head "look at you! is because Daddy and Mummy don't have money, that is why you going about mixing up with bad boys for money? you, a JSS3 student?" Janet reply angrily,. "that is enoug why are you always reporting us to Dad and Mum? you are always acting like the holy one just because you always come first in your class and equally use big vocabularies. I would advise you should concentrate on the reading of your ' big books' and just leave us alone." And Sharon reply." Never! I can't leave you alone. And I won't leave you alone. you are my sister. Now, I will report you too." she turns to their mother "Mummy... do you know that your daughter (she gestures towards Janet) Janet, already has boyfriends? Mary jump up and confronts Sharon , screaming in the other's face. "it is a lie! it is a lie... I don't have any boyfriend o Mummy, please don't listen to her. She is lying against me! ?
