EMILY’S POV.
I ran to hug Lucas, and he hugged me in return. I couldn’t believe I was finally free. John couldn’t claim me as his wife anymore, and the nightmare I had been thrown into was fast turning into a daydream.
It was just so hard to accept that I was finally free from John. He had no right to touch me whatsoever, or claim me. The rush of sweetness just made me so happy. I couldn’t help, but show it.
“I told you we’d win.” Lucas said, beaming down at me.
“I thought it was going to be a long draw, but it was quite short.” I replied.
“John couldn’t risk denying when Katie was there. She probably has more recordings of their conversations, with John’s dirty deals in it. He had to stop before she revealed something that could actually be a real problem.”
