Theresa was quite unsure of what was happening. Everything became a blur after Chad put down the phone. All she heard was they needed to go to the hospital. It has something to do with his Dad.
She stood there while Chad turned off the stove. Theresa could only think of how soggy the noodles already were knowing that they overcooked it as they were attending to Nick’s call.
Theresa stood there as she watched Chad grab his bag from upstairs. He was holding her keys too.
The next thing she knew, she was sitting on the passenger side of the Jeep, Chad was securing her seatbelt. Then the Jeep was on the highway. She was hearing Chad talk but she could not comprehend what he was saying.
She just sat there, tears falling from her eyes for reasons that she could not also understand.
