“You can rest first if you want, we can go later,” Christine told Samuel. He was already offering to take her to his place so that she can settle in.
“Don’t worry, it is not a long drive. And besides, it’s better to catch up on sleep at home rather than here at the sofa.” He started to pick some of Christine’s bags so they could get going.
Christine could use some sleep too. Although she managed to sleep for a few hours in the Chief’s office, she would constantly wake up. The sofa was comfortable but her anxiety was increasingly alarming. She was so close to throwing something last night.
But she tried to compose herself. It was just the beginning of her journey, she couldn’t afford to get distracted even with what just happened to her right now.
