Chapter Nineteen

So focused were they on on each other that they didn't realized that I was watching them. I had followed them from the blonde’s house to the restaurant. My car was parked a few buildings down as I didn’t want them to know they had been followed. I had been following him for a week. Ever since he had returned to New York. I had even sat two seats down from his on the flight over. He hadn’t recognized me which was good. In my business it’s always good to go unnoticed.  After parking the car I went about getting a table in the restaurant but I was told I had to book a head. I tried paying the Maître d to get in but he didn’t accept cash. What an i***t. Who refused five hundred large ones on a cold night? People always had a price but I didn’t know the guy so figuring him out was not an option. I decided to stick around and watch for them when they left. I had a job to do. A job I would complete at all cost. After about fifteen minutes I moved to the bar across the street. Figured I may as well drink a couple beers while I waited. No reason to stand outside in the cold while they were inside. I had a feeling they were gonna be a while. As I sat at the bar, drinking my beer, I remembered something. I remembered where I had seen the blond. I had been sitting in this same spot, drinking maybe my tenth or something like that, beer. I had tried to pick her up at the bar but she blew me off. Spent the rest of the night with that son-of-a-b***h. Now I had more motivation to finish this job. I suddenly decided to wait outside. I just had a feeling something was about to go down. I walked out the bar and back across the street. After five minutes I quickly walked to my car and drove back to the restaurant. As soon as I drove up, and to my surprise, there they were. Both of them walking out of the restaurant. Holding hands of all things. They walked to the car and were off in less than two minutes. I drove out after them, but made sure I hung back a little. Followed them back to the house and waited outside. I was just gonna tail him for a while. Made sure I was I knew his pattern. Plus I wanted to know what he was doing here. What did he have to do with these people? I wanted to know his relationship to them. I would find out too. I never left a stone unturned and I wouldn’t now. As soon as I collected all the info I need. Then I would complete the job. Samuel Kennedy had a surprise coming. A surprise he wouldn’t be ready for at all. See you in a while, Samuel.
