The Assasin's Alpha

Get away

    I look around my room that was given to me, it was nice. It was big and there were a lot of large big windows. What big f*****g idiots. They leave me alone and as soon as I can I scale down the nearest window. 

    They probably thought I wouldn't climb from the fifth floor, but they were very wrong. I have honestly scaled much, much higher feats. I make it to the bottom and as soon as I shift into wolf form I am being tackled by a guard.

    I am still bigger than him though, and stronger, which takes him by surprise as I buck him off and run towards the border. I am also very much faster. Thanks to my father's Alpha blood I was stronger than most wolves and also much faster.

    After crossing the border I keep running, I run as far towards the precinct that my legs could carry me when I crash into what feels like a ginormous tree trunk. I look up and I do my best to keep the shock from my eyes. s**t!

    "So you just decide to switch tickets behind my back like it is nothing?"

    I look up at his strong jawline, slightly covered with his dark facial hair, his hair was slightly disheveled and he had dark circles crowding underneath his eyes. An  yes, he looked pissed at me.

    "And yet you don't even bother coming back to the precinct to check in weekly! Do you just run the place or something Madelyn? Cause I would really like to know when it was that I got demoted!"

    His voice was raising and the vein in his forehead that bulges when he gets angry looked as if it was about to explode.    

    "Shift!"

    I hate when he uses his Alpha tone with me, the Alpha blood in me refused to submit, but I did not want to argue with him. He was always there for me after my mother died an the last thing I wanted was to put a dent in our relationship.

    His face begins to grow red from my hesitation and his muscles looked as if they could rip out of his skin as his eyes grow even darker.

    I allow my wolf to dissipate from my being and return to my soul. I feel my own face grow red as his eyes travel up and down my frame as his hands latch onto my waist as he brings me close to him, our skin pressed against each other. 

    His lips search for mine, but I look away. He glares down at me, his face not hiding his confusion, "What is wrong?"

    I don't know how to tell him, tell him sorry, I found my mate and couldn't fulfill my ticket and now I no longer want anymore benefits from our relationship. We had been on again and off again for years behind my fathers back, but now when he touched me I feel like throwing up. My wolf wants to tear him to shreds and stomp around on his dead flesh.

    I am about to try and explain when a loud howl nearby pierces our ears. 

    Mate!

    s**t. Adonis looks around, his body alert and prepared when an enormous dark black wolf leaps from the air and lands in front of us growling. Adonis, is not phased in the least, although he may have been a bit surprised. He loosens his grip from my waist and turns to make eye contact with the huge black wolf.

    "Are you here to turn yourself in Axel?"

    A growl escaped the enormous wolf's chest as bones began to c***k and the tall muscular man was presented in front of us literally balls out. A shirtless man with basketball shorts on an no shoes on throws Axel a pair of shorts as he steps back next to a dozen other warriors, who by the looks to it have all just shifted back from wolf form.

    "I came to get my Luna," he paused before mentioning, "Oh, and how come I have a ticket pulled for my head."

    Adonis laughed once more, "Your Luna? Why the hell would I care about your Luna? Do what you wish, but as far as your ticket goes, unfortunately somebody paid a hefty price to see your head on a stake. So you can see that you coming to a pack of assassins probably wasn't the wisest choice!"

    I can tell that Adonis is beginning to lose his patience and our mind link was hit hard by our guards surrounding the precinct.

    We are surrounded! They aren't placing fire, but all have flame throwers are prepared to fire!

    So he brought the whole freaking army to come and get me?! Adonis glared at Axel's looming figure as he doesn't break his eye contact for even a minute. "You are making a big mistake Axel."

    Adonis looks at me before nodding his head towards Axel, "Would you like to try again? Maybe have successful ticket this go round?"

    Great, just how I wanted this day to turn out. Axel chuckles at his words before taking a step towards me, causing Adonis to growl, "I am warning you mutt-"

    Axel smirks and interrupts him right in his tracks, "Interrupting what Don? The fact that you have been jealous of me for years an have had your assassins breathing down my neck for the past eight months shows me exactly what is on your mind and honestly? I don't really give a s**t, keep sending them and I will gladly give you their heads back in a box."

    With the end of that sentence he turns to look at me and gestured in my direction, "But she will come with me, whether you like it or not."

    Adonis's eyes widened and rage erupted from his every pore as I could feel his temper rising faster than hot air. Before he could say anything I placed a hand on Adonis's flexed bicep, calming him ever so slightly, "I will go on one condition."

    Adonis whipped his head towards me, "What?! Why would you leave with this monster?! You need to fulfill your ticket, now!"

    I hated when his attitude changed this way towards me, ordering me around consistently. I shake my head and look back at Axel's smirking expression, who does not seem to be one bit worried about the predicament he is in. "I go with you, but I still get to work for the precinct."

    Adonis looks back and forth from me to Axel, "Is he-"

    "She is my mate, she is my Luna, and she WILL come back with me whether you like it or not."

    Without yet answering my question who comes up to me, pulling me to him before looking at Adonis and saying, "And she will only take tickets around my pack, nothing further."

    I can't believe what I am hearing, he means what he is saying and he is actually okay with me working. Adonis looks down, deep in thought before slowly nodding his head, "What do I get in return? She is one of my best and by keeping her in boundaries it loses me money. Also I am assuming you want your ticket off the block, so tell me. What do I get in return?"

    Axel smiles slyly at Adonis before pulling me even closer to his intoxicating scent and strong burly chest, "My people will be in contact. Don't worry, you will be very happy with my payment."

    I look up at my mate, what is he talking about? He is so handsome and self assured, my wolf is doing somersaults from our close proximity. 

    Adonis nods before waving a hand in a shooing motion, "Then leave me. Regardless you aren't allowed on my territory."

    Axel smiles, "Likewise brother."
